I'm at a bit of a standstill with the scales at the moment i've got around 10-15 pounds left to lose (my mfp says i've lost 9 but i lost 10 pounds before starting on here) and i was losing my willpower a little, getting frustrated losing a pound here and there then nothing for a few weeks.... until i noticed yesterday that my hair was looking really shiny and my skin was looking much healthier i've always suffered from dry skin but that seems to have cleared up now. Also the past few nights that i've done some form of exercise i've managed to stay up till past 11pm which for me is extremely rare and i've really enjoyed those extra few hours just relaxing, watching telly and catching up on the day with my boyfriend once the little ones in bed (we both work full time and he doesn't get home some nights till 6.30pm and i'm usually ready for bed by 9.30pm)
There isn't really much point to my post but i thought it would be interesting to see if anyone else had seen these benefits or anything else?
It's really cheered me up this week and made me realise that although i'm in this to lose weight it really is a lifestyle change and the rewards are much more than seeing the scales go down :)

Yay, nice to see a post not obsessing about a number on a scale for a change, well done
  • This made me feel better today - I've been in 2 weeks, lost big at first but nothing this week, was actually up a pound today. But I worked out for the first time in 15 years, felt great, and have just felt better overall these past 2 weeks. Yes, the weight goal remains, and I get frustrated, but your post helped with that today. Thank you!
  • Thanks guys! i just thought it would be nice to look at other advantages to eating healthy and exercising and if anyone else had experienced any other benefits, i've been stressing for so long at the scales, but at the minute i'm happy just to notice a change in myself for the better even if my bodies not quite how i'd like it to be :)
