Hi all, I'm Fatima. I'm on my umpteeth weight loss plan, I've done Atkins, weight watchers (x5), nutrisystem, slim 4 life, counting calories, personal trainers...and nothing has clicked. I did lose 30lbs on my own: working out 4x/wk and not eating out in 2007, but I did it after a bad breakup in order to show my ex that i wasn't a "fat loser"

I absolutely hate cliche's but I started Jenny Craig for the first time 2 days before new year's, although this is NOT a NY resolution. Some of the triggers that made me choose a plan, once again, was that in the last year, I had gained 20lbs. I started off 2010 on weight watchers, I lost 15lbs, my 5% goal and after that I just gave up and eventually put on the weight back plus 5lbs. I was eating fast food drive-thru at least 4 times a week, at least one of those times, I'd eat in my car and throw away the evidence before getting home. I had to buy khaki pants for work and none would fit, had to go up to a size 24, which i had never even dreamed about doing. The last 10 years, I've averaged between sizes 18-22, when I had to put on the 24 and it barely zipped, I knew I had to do something. I am in the sports medicine field, I was observing a surgery of one of my athletes, when I was told I had to put on a lead vest due to the radiation from the x-rays, I was stuck in the biggest vest in the OR, sucking my breathe in and praying to God that It didn't bust out, since it was too small for me. I couldn't get on roller coaster rides. I went to 2 sporting events within the same week and luckily we were seated with nobody behind us and high up, so I was able to sit on the chair while folded up because the arm rests dug into my sides when seated normally. In October, I was able to buy my very first brand new car, I was beyond excited. When I went on my test drive, I had the seat belt buckle dig into my thighs because i was too wide for the driver's seat of a 2012 SUV.

I went into JC, got weighed and it said 299.2, I almost fainted. I weigh more than my 23 & 25 y/o sisters AND our 20lb dog put together! I've been on it for 10 days and at my first weigh in, I dropped 4.5 lbs. Not exactly the number I wanted for week 1, but 4 days in, I was doing a boxing class and hurt my knee. I ended up having a lot of fluid in my knee, so we think that may have affected my final number. I'm having surgery for torn cartilage in my knee in 3 days and I'm hoping that if I stick to my JC foods, that not being able to go to the gym won't affected me too negatively. I had gotten in the routine of working out 5x/week during the last week of Dec and the first week of Jan before hurting myself. I'm scared that having this surgery will put me back in the mindset of "i don't want to work out, so Im not going to work out".

I need all the encouragement I can get.

That's what MFP is here for, so we can all encourage each other! I've tried everything a million times too, this is the furthest I've ever got with my weight loss!

I was on JC in the spring and with the help of MFP lost 40lbs. After gaining some back (I went nuts) I am now back on it and I must say, I've missed it! This is a really good plan to help jump start your lifestyle. You just need to get creative with your meals and TRY EVERYTHING, or else it WILL get boring!

Good luck! and don't sweat the 4.5, that is still an amazing number!!
