Hi Everyone,
So.. this journey is of course for me and living my life better. However, it also is an added bonus to make a Trip I am going on be that much more exciting!! It will be a trip of a lifetime for me and I would love to have reached an amazing goal by then.
Right now, I'd like that goal to be 100lbs Gone! But, is this possible? I know that with Hard work it can be. Do any of you, my fellow MFP Friends have any ideas, tips or advice you could give me.
Oh and the Trip is going to be 2 weeks and I will be visiting Ireland, Scotland and England for my 27th Birthday in Mid-October.
I want to go on that trip and be the best me I can be by that point in time.. only to get better of course!!
Thanks So Much!!
Megan

Everyone here is going to tell you that there is no way to do this safely. Other than an initial spike of weight loss at the beginning (from losing a lot of water weight), the maximum you should be losing a week safely would be about 2 lbs. So 100 lbs is feasible (if extremely aggressive) for a year, but to do it in 9 months probably isn't realistic.
If you try to take shortcuts to speed things up, you could be harming yourself and screwing up your metabolism. The closer you get to your goal, the more risky it is.0 -
You can do it! I can't offer much advice other than to eat right and work out through lots of cardio and strength training! I'm sure you'll do just fine and keep away from those sugary treats!
Best of luck and remember to take one step at a time!0 -
Enjoy your trip by the way! How exciting!!!0

I would be happy with any good result by that date. If I keep up with my diet and work outs I know that some great work will be done by that point in time. I understand that 100lbs may be over wishing, but I figure it'll just make me work harder. Ya know? Thanks Everyone!0

If you keep at it, you definitely be able to make a healthy dent in it by October, whether or not you actually hit the 100 lbs. 70'ish lbs, or maybe even a bit more wouldn't be unrealistic, I don't think. Good luck, and let us know how it's progressing!0

Bump up the exercise that you're doing. Try doing a minimum of 30 minutes of an intense workout, ideally an hour and stick with your diet. You should be sweating heavily, if not soaked by the time you're done. It hurts, it's not fun but it's the best way to get results.0

This is right. But, I also agree with you that it's a GREAT idea to shoot for larger goals, so then when you hit that 60 or 70 lb mark you are still doing really well. Just don't be disappointed with less than 100 lbs.0 -

Ok, yes...you need to exercise, but you already know this and you are already doing it. i have worked out for about 90 minutes a day/5 days a week and I've lost almost 70 lbs in a year.
What you eat is more important.
Also, if you want to LOOK good ... LIFT WEIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

What I was getting at, based upon looking at the diary, is walking 3.0 mph for 30 minutes should be increased to 60 minutes at a minimum to achieve the 100lb loss. If only going to do a 30 minute workout then make it intense but ideally shoot for 60 minutes or more. Agree on the weights, if you don't know how have someone show you or research on the internet.0 -
You might also want to consider that you're probably going to have a problem with excess skin if you lose that quickly.
A slower loss will give your skin some time to reshape itself.0
