How has your personality changed?

A friend was talking to me about how I was when she first met me, which was at my heaviest of 305 lbs.
In the last year I've lost 95 lbs and she said it seemed like there was something different about me with each pound.
I went from someone who was always sad and shy and let people walk all over me to someone who's always happy, I talk to everyone, and I'm confident enough to tell people to get over themselves.
I was promoted at my original job (they thought I lacked social skills before) and now I'm also a dance instructor.
It's amazing how losing weight can change the way you live life.

My personality hasn't changed at all. I have always been the same person, at 100lbs or at 224lbs or at my current 175lbs. :) Good for you though, those are great changes!

More confident! Definitely. I used to like hide in my clothes and would avoid going out.

I tend to be a very withdrawn person and nervous around strangers, but today I was in such a good mood from getting to buy smaller pants that when the sales lady asked me why I came in today I told her it was to see how good my butt looks in the 3-way mirror. Hehe.

I don't think my essential personality has changed, but my confidence has taken a boost.

    This is a great topic.

At my skinniest (150ish) I was outgoing, friendly and loving, hard working, motivated, and focused.

At my heaviest (more or less where I'm at now) I'm only about 50% as outgoing as I used to be, friendly to most people but easily irritated, I work hard (that will never change) but I feel like I'm rewarded less, I'm not nearly as motived and I'm FAR less focused. These are things I think about everyday. I miss the person I was when I was skinnier. I know there are others out there that miss the person I was as well. This is one of my biggest motivations for losing weight. I honestly felt smarter when I was in better shape. I've always been a very smart guy but now I just don't feel the way I used to. These thoughts are one of the things that help to motivate me.

I get owly if I haven't eaten recently. That's because my blood sugar gets too low. Before I lost the weight, I didn't have this problem.

Mind you, before I lost the weight I was also flirting with Type 2 diabetes.

No regrets on the personality adjustment btw.

My personality when I used to be slim was confident, easy going, happy and energetic. Now I have really low self esteem, I think I am disgusting, I am irritable and easily get upset. But I feel myself morphing into the old me more and more everyday. I can't wait. I am glad you enjoying your new self :flowerforyou:

I am so much more confident and focussed than ever in my life. I could always take criticism but now I can turn it into a positive one. Self-confidence and the awareness that I am responsible for what/how I am and feel are going hand in hand. I am very happy and glad I made changes: losing weight and quitting smoking simultaneously. I couldn't have done that without the support of my awesome and inspiring MFP pals though. Guys, you really rock :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I'm depressed a much smaller percentage of the time, but I think a lot of that has to do with eating better, not losing weight. Oddly enough, though I'm currently working toward losing some weight, I'm perfectly content with my body, now. I couldn't have said that even just twenty pounds ago. I think it pisses people off.

Also somewhat oddly, I love food even more now than I did before. I just love different foods, now.
