You continue burning exercise calories even after you stop working out and your heart rate returns to normal?

I was watching this programme which did a test, first at rest, how many calories a person burned during sleep on a normal day, and then how many calories he burned during sleep after a day when he did even light exercise and his metabolism stayed high until the following morning when the test was done again.

Makes you wanna get off that sofa, don't it??

  • You know I have read that somewhere too!

I should read deeper into this sometime.

I wonder if it a certain type of exercise that triggers the 'afterburn'
  • It most definitely does, and in my case lowers my appetite as well, so great no matetr how you look at it x
