So, I've been following a 1200 calorie diet for two weeks now. The first week I was down 1.5 pounds and then this week nothing! So dissapointing! I was hoping for at least a half pound, but I've ony maintained, no loss.
I've been working out 3/4 days a week at home, doing what I can without any equipment. So what am I doing wrong? Surely I haven't hit a plateau this early on???!!!

Give it some time, I go up and down a lot but as I've stayed with the plan from MFP and lost more than I've gained, lost a lot more. It could be anything from extra water, to normal cycles of your body. Just keep going at a reasonable calorie intake and exercise program and you'll do great.
  • Do you ever watch the Biggest Loser? I had seen it in the past, but not again until recently. This week the contestants were in week two. Without getting into too many details, my point is that the trainers said something that I'm totally experiencing as true.

They said that week two is one of the hardest weeks, because your body has made so many changes and is now trying to figure things out. Your first week, you lose alot of water weight. However, by week two, most people plateau, even with exercise.

Biggest Looser contestants burn between 2000-3000 calories a day on the ranch. Week one, some people lose 15 pounds. However week two, those same people doing the same calorie burn and diet, only lost 3-5 pounds.

If you plateau'd on your second week, consider it part of the process. Your body will adjust and week three is still full of possibilities. Keep at it. You can do it.
