My local rec center offeres a Tabata class on Saturday mornings. I was thinking about trying this weekend. Has anyone tried this? What are your thoughts?

A tabata is a 4min workout.0

Yes, I did this a couple of times at boot camp. Just high intensity workout for a few minutes, then change to next workout. I thought it was good!0

Also do it at Boot Camp. Good workout because it changes frequently.0

I just did a Tabata interval workout this morning, and I really liked it!0

It's hard work but kicks butt0

If done correctly, Tabata interval drills are tremendously effective. Using a large muscle group like legs in the way that the Tabata protocol calls for creates an oxygen deficit that will torch the pounds. Very worth it, but they can be brutal. Good luck!0

Yes, I've tried it and I have no doubt that it's effective. HIIT is much better for seeing quick results as it continues to boost your metabolism long after you've finished the workout. It's extremely challenging though. I feel more exhausted after a four minute Tabata session than I do after a fifty minute run. But, if you're seeking fast results then it'll definitely be worth it.0
