I have been dieting for about 4 weeks now. I started on this site this past Sunday. I punch my food into the search line. I notice there are variances in the amount of calories. I always try to use the HIGHER calorie numbers.
Any thoughts?

I've noticed that too. I'm just guessing which one is right and since I weigh myself daily I can kind of see if I went over with my calories of if porions were right. But I would love to read other opinions and suggestions.
I especially have problems with "guessing" correct size/amount of my homemade food.0 -
I usually choose the one that tends to be higher. I figure if I am off, I would rather cheat myself.0

if its something that packaged, i compare the packaging of what i ate to the one i logged.. if its not the same, i pick a different one, or adjust serving size.
if its something like fresh produce, ill double check with http://whfoods.com/ .. they have tons of info for produce and i love it0
