Had appendicitis this weekend....how/when do i get back to w

This past weekend I had to have emergency surgery for a case of appendecitis that came out of no where.

I have been recovering since that surgery for 5 days and I feel honestly....

fat....lazy...and like I am falling waaaay behind on my fitness goals (specially after new years and chrisrmas)

When is it safe to start working out again?

How go I get back up to I can do Zumba and other workouts again?

Please help...I i know I gainedabout 2-3 pounds this holiday and this set back is really putting me down...

    Really sorry to hear about your illness, that sucks! Despite the temptation to get back to working out asap you need to be careful not to overdo it as you could set yourself back further.
    I would recommend starting with something gentle and low impact and see how that feels, don't throw yourself back into Zumba or anything that vigorous straight off the bat.

    Do some walking and see how that feels, then gradually build up the intensity. Just make sure you listen to your body and if anything hurts STOP!!

    I would also wait until your Doctor gives you the go ahead before starting anything like zumba or even swimming as you don't want to reopen your wound.
