Prior to pregnancy, I was chub free (lost 15 lbs) for 2 Years following a Paleo-ish Diet!  2008 ~135-140 lbs

Then I was pregnant with my baby boy!  I weighed over 200 lbs anD ate the seafood diet!  If I saw it, I ate it.  I had weird cravings of spaghettios and fruit!

Post pregnancy, I started running and cutting calories.  But a terrible thing started to happen to my body.  I couldn't produce enough milk.  I stopped immediately.  It was important to me to feed my baby my breast milk then fit back into my clothes.  Slowly the weight came off naturally without doing anything different.  3 months post pregnancy pic.

I breast fed for 7 months.  After that, I slowly worked back toward my Paleo diet.   I am now 144 lbs with a goal of 127 lbs for my wedding day!

So I am here to tell you....don't listen to your friends and family!!!  You will get back into your normal clothes and perhaps be even fitter then you imagined! Just do it healthy and be patient!

Add me as a friend....stay tuned in March for my wedding dress fitting!

I was exactly the same!!! I breastfed both my kids for a year (my daughter is 18 mos and I'm still nursing her) & when I delivered my son, I was 232 lbs (starting weight 158). When I got pregnant with my daughter (my son was 18 mos old) I weighed 156. Gained 54 lbs with her, and lost it by 10 mos post-delivery. I am currently 149.5 and am working my way towards 140. Slowly but surely! I am already more fit and clothes that fit me before are a bit big. I'm taking it slowly (but doing Insanity and starting Turbo Fire as well) and keeping my calories and water in check so my milk doesn't take a hit.

The other day a girl said to me, "you have an 18 month old? You're in great shape!" Yes, I do & THANK YOU for saying so :)

Other post preg gals, it CAN be done and if you stick with it, IT WILL BE DONE!!!!

You look great and congrats!! (I love Paleo-ish eating by the way!) I lost all of the weight I had gained from my pregnancy in just a few months, but then I went off my eating plan and gained it all back and then some :( but I am now back on track and hope to be a fine mama just like you soon! Thanks for the encouragement!

Awesome. You look amazing. I need this inspiration thank you for sharing!
  • Hear hear! I agree, I've lived far too long with the myth that babies ruin your body. A dramatic change of lifestyle has more effect, but we're not doing our girls any favours perpetrating the myth that you're doomed to be overweight after babies, and you may as well just accept it.

You look great, will watch out for your wedding photos with interest.

I'm nearly forty and weigh about what I weighed when I was 21 (well before babies) and am steadily heading towards my lowest ever adult weight (and I've never been *very* overweight, just steadily overweight all the time). Busting the myths is one of my personal mantras because I realize how many undermining myths I was brought up with (by a loving, caring family, who were just carrying on the myths they were brought up with) and I really, REALLY want to change that for my girls - and I will. Eating for two is probably another idea that needs examining LOL.

    Thanks for sharing.

Awesome!! Good for you! You look fantastic!!

I weigh less NOW than I did before having my babies! Heck, I weigh about the same that I did in high school (though my figure is quite different!). (Still have some post-baby flab, but I did have 4, including 2 at once, so I'm proud of my "twin-skin.")
  • Thanks everyone. I just remember my older sisters saying, "your body will never be the same. You're hips will be larger and your clothes won't fit." Hmmm, the only thing I notice is my saggy skin tummy and a pink dot that won't go away on my tummy. But I only notice when I am doing pushups. Thank God I don't pose for pics like a dog!! I still struggle with not eating off my sons plate...but have incredible willpower.

You look fantastic! Well done! I posted a topic very similar to this just the other day. When I first joined MFP in September I read a similar post and it inspired me so much it was just what I needed! My profile picture was taken just the other day, my little girl is 20 months old. Still have some work to do but am quite chuffed with how it's all going so far! It has taken quite a bit of commitment but I'm pleased with my results. I love these inspiring posts! Keep up all the hard work you Yummy Mummy :-)

I just remember my older sisters saying, "your body will never be the same. You're hips will be larger and your clothes won't fit."

I was standing in my mom's kitchen chatting with her a couple of weeks ago and she looked at me for a long time and suddenly said, "You're a lot narrower than I thought you would be." Wha???? "I always thought you just were just made wide. I guess not." (There is a "history" of wide-reared women in her family. )
