Hi! I am new to myfitnesspal. I have been eating healthy since new years and have lost 5 lbs. I am doing better now that I am using the online tracker. I am struggling to add exercise in. I stopped exercising about 18 months ago and it is hard to get back into it. It is a challenge but I set a small goal of three times a week for now. If anyone has any input on fitting exercise back in..I would love to hear it. Thanks!

  • I am not a big exerciser either..however, i find that even adding a 5 minute walk with my dog, or 1 minute up the stairs adds up quickly! i also find that i get more motivated to do a little more because it boosts the calories i can intake for the day. instead of just walkng down to get the mail, i took a trip around the block, I felt great about myself and was surprised at how easy it actually is. I also highly recommend WII FIT. you start playing those dang games and all of sudden you have exercised for 30 minutes :noway: !! it's also a great way to get your family involved and supportive as well! you would be suprised at how active you actually are, and how many calories you burn just doing everyday things.. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP IT UP!

Thanks! I guess I need to stop parking in the pregnant mother spot at the grocery store! haha I actually did that yesterday and used the rain as an excuse. Also those pregnant ladies need exercise! LOL
  • I am new to my fitnesspal too!! I lost 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I have 10 more I would like to take off and it is the hardest. I have been eating right and trying to get the exercise in but get lazy sometimes and cant motivate myself. I think you just have to get up and do it whether you want to or not!!
  • having myfitnesspal on my phone really helps keep me on track through out the day as well...I find i use it as a bragging tool to myself LOL look i burned 62 calories walking thorugh the store!!! it's been a lot of fun..i've never kept myself in check like this before,
  • i feel so self satisfied when i've done even the smallest amount of exercise...i "treated" myself to hand weights to keep at my office and by my couch..a little movement while i sit on my but has got to be better than nothing...before my only other form of exercise was plate to mouth LOL

new to it too. And, we are awesome! We share the same name. Mine is just spelled a bit different.

I started this on the 8th. I am down 6 lbs but I suspect that is mostly water weight. I hope to reach my goal. It is a big goal and I put it in at first but I have thought about it and lowered my goal so I can work in smaller strides.

Yay Hey! lets get to it!

Together, we can make a difference.
