Okay, I've narrowed it down to these 4 prenatal vitamins... Does anyone have any advice on any of them?

Of these, I lean toward the Stuart or Nature Made. However, there is no right answer. One of the most important ingredients in a prenatal vitamin is folic acid. You could also call your OB/Gyn and tell them that you want to start a prenatal vitamin, but are unsure which ones you will be able tolerate. See if they can give you some samples to try. Then, choose the one that is the most tolerable for you. I work for an OB/Gyn, and we give samples of multiple vitamins to patients all the time so that the patient can decide which one is best for her. Then we will give her a prescription for that one.

My advice: so long as you get enough folate (1000 mg daily), and they all have it, you should be good. I don't know that there's enough data out there about DHA, etc. to really justify the cost of those vitamins.

Besides which, eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, and you'll get MOST of the essentials from the food.

The real advice: there's an awful lot of obsessing that you can do as a mom-to-be. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT. Eat your best, keep active, stay away from cigarettes and as many meds as possible, keep your OB appointments, and do NOT turn your home into a sterile environment. Focus on learning how to keep your stress levels low and let the small stuff go down the river, where it belongs. Kids need a mom who can love them with everything she's got, take good care of them AND herself, and roll with the inevitable punches.

    Good luck!

tgrobar75-- I've talked to my Doctor and she said to just take whatever I feel comfortable with... so I narrowed it down to these. I've heard good things about the Nature Made- I just wanted to get some opinions... thanks!

ShrinkRapt451- Don't worry I teach K-4th grade... :) I just want to make sure that I am stocking my body up with enough vitamins before we start trying in a few months. There is so much info out there -- just looking for some advice. :)

    Thanks! Keep it coming!

LOL, sometimes there is TOO much info out there! Seriously, don't sweat it. I took the generic ones because the Rx ones are seriously ridiculous amounts of money. I have no reason to think I damaged my kids with this choice. ;)

Okay, I am putting a new one into the mix.
I like the idea of natural prenatal...

Source Of Life Prenatal with a separate Nordic Naturals Prenatal-DHA

Has anyone ever tried this one?
