Any ideas for good pre/post workout snacks?

I always like to have something healthy to snack on just before I make my way to the gym but am getting a bit sick of bananas! Any ideas would be appreciated :3

  • Here's what I usually eat!

    Pre: Wheat bread with peanut butter or an apple.
    Post: Protien shake and a handful of blackberries

    Berries (especially black and blue) have antioxidants that help rid the muscles of lactic acid that build up after a hard workout. This lactic acid is what causes muscle soreness.
  • Chocolate chip cookies.

    Like the idea of berries!

    pre - wholewheat toast w peanut butter, or a good bar like Nakd, or a handful of almonds.

    after - choc milk after strength training, something carby after cardio.

    i love oatmeal with berries before and a protein shake afterwards!
  • Hm well I'm off in about forty minutes today, it's early so:

    Pre: Slice of Rye toast with peanut butter
    Post: Still deciding, either a shake with 1 scoop of protein powder, 1/2 c fat free yogurt with 1 scoop of protein powder stirred in, or egg whites and another slice of toast. =)

  • EAS low carb protein shake. They are pre-mixed already which makes them convenient.
