Have 50+ lbs to lose....how depressing

I weighed myself this morning and came to realize that if I wanted to get down to my goal weight I have over 50lbs to lose. It's just so depressing. But I have to start doing something.
I've started this weight loss thing so many times and I keep ending up back where I was before. I do really well for a few weeks and then I just fall off the band wagon. I just want to stick with it until I get to my goal weight. Why can't I stick with it? Why is my mind playing such games with me???
Anyone else out there that has around 50 lbs to lose that wants to urge each other on? I'm also looking for new friends and always hoping that THIS time will be my LAST time.

I am in the exact same boat. I need to lose 50lbs. For now I set a 30lb goal for July (attending a wedding so my motivation is to look good in a dress !) Its extremely depressing when I see the my BMI is obese ... And I wonder how I could let that happen ? But I'm trying to meet a weekly goal ! If I lose a pound a week I am happy. But it's only been 3 weeks .. And is only been 4 days that I began counting calories. if you'd like we can ad each other and help make sure we complete our diaries daily.0

I think making a mini goal will help me the most. I was looking at my drivers license picture the other day and I hate it. Well my licnese is coming up due in March and I would love to have a much better looking picture for that. So my goal is to get at least 10 lbs off this body before than. I know I can get there.0

Sounds like we are all in the same boat. I started with MFP in the spring of last year I think. I did good for a while. I logged my food and even exercised 5 times a week rather than 3 times a week. I was doing the 30 Day shred and walking for about 20- 30 minutes. Summer time came and we went camping and I didnt want to not exercise just because we where camping so I got up in the am and walked. I ended up bringing the wrong socks and rubbed a huge blister on the back of my heal and that was it for me. I havent done nothing but gain weight since then. Oh wait, I have also fussed that the tredmill was in my way during Christmas time.
With the start of a New Year, I really want to make the effort to lose weight and just be healthy. I dont want to be a super model I just want to be happy in my own skin and really stick with it this time.0 -
I am in the same boat. I have 50 pounds to lose until I am at my goal weight. The first thing that I have come to the conclustion of is my water intake. I don't drink water- I will drink diet coke, diet this and that. I googled how much water I should be drinking- and it's about 80 ounces a day. Start with drinking more water and exercice. I am by no means a weightloss expert, but that is where I am starting.
Good Luck!!
