I just recently started my "road to awesome" on Monday and have been doing really awesome and have been super proud of myself. I lost 2 lbs and was feeling great. However, today I was making dinner and my roommate's fiance and my roommate were really bringing me down. My roommate asked if I wanted a sip of wine and I declined because I told her I already met my calories for the day. She was like "pft it's just a sip of wine." I brushed it off and continued cooking my dinner. Then her and her fiance were eating chocolate and he offered me a piece and I again repeated I already met my calories for the day. Then I finish cooking my dinner and sit down to eat and her fiance then says "Oh that looks real healthy" in a sarcastic tone... I reply that it's in my calories and I'm fine. All I had was chicken, homemade gravy, egg noodles, and garlic toast. 525 calories. I guess I just need help with what to do when I'm super frustrated that everyone around me is eating what they want and trying to bring me down. My roommate's fiance really told me basically what I was doing was stupid and I'm just feeling really low right now. I was feeling so good about what I was doing and felt really supported and now all I want to do is cry because they basically treated me like I was weird and doing something stupid.

You are doing AWESOME!!!! and you have to remind yourself of that. Other people spread negativity because they don't have it in them to make positive, healthy choices that you have decided to make (even though it can be very hard sometimes). You can't let their negative comments bring you down. Also, you might try talking to your roommate (when her fiance isn't there) and tell her that you are really making an effort to be healthier and make good food choices and you would appreciate it if she would respect that. She may not realize that the small comments are affecting you as much as they are. Good luck in your journey and keep up the hard work!!!!0

First of all, sweets, congrats on the willpower! Both in saying 'no' to those temptations, and also, I admire your restraint in not fusing a connection between your knee and this guy's *kitten*.
My advice is this-- would your Grandma be proud of you? Or think of someone you really look up to, and how they would feel about what you're doing.
My guess is they'd approve, and they'd tell you to consider the source of the negativity.
If they think it's stupid, the hell with them. Let them eat chocolate and drink wine and be ignorant. They're not the ones that control you.
Keep up the good work, and don't let small minds occupy big spaces in your mind, ok?
If you ever need to vent, shoot me a message.0
