Today I started Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30. Anyone want to join me? I plan to do it M-F with one day off on the weekend and I'll probably walk on the other day. So, who's with me?

I have the DVD also and will start tonight/tomorrow.... How can you log this as exercise on our tracker? Does anyone know?
  • I have Bob Harper's DVD set and I was wondering the same thing about logging that kind of exercise.

I am starting week 2 tomorrow! Can't wait! I like it a lot! Maybe even better than 30DS.

    Log it under "circuit training".

I started Week 1 yesterday! At first my boyfriend cracked jokes, so I asked if he was just going to sit there cracking jokes or do this with me. He was totally winded by the end of it ;-p Now he wants to do the 30 Day Shred with me too :)

I slapped my heart rate monitor on, and I burned/logged it as 225 calories under "Ripped in 30 - Level 1". I'm 5'1" 112 pounds.

Here's the meal plan that goes with it, although it looks like it targets 1400 calories per day. I'm actually on Jenny Craig targeting 1200 calories per day.

I did RI30 last Spring all the way through and really loved it. I definitely got strength and more toned and it kept my weight steady until I finished (at that time I was not yet on MFP and was eating and drinking a lot). I'm excited to be doing it now while I am also watching calories and see what kind of results I get. I just started it Monday so today will be day 4 of level 1. I'm doing it 5-6 days for the week and then moving on to the next level. On days I can get up early and do it before the kids get up I'm also doing another workout at my sons naptime (either a JM one or Pilates depending how I'm feeling that day).

I finished week 1 yesterday. I am enjoying it...how about you? I was sore for the first couple of days, but that's to be expected. Looking forward to level 2 on Monday! I'm doing it Mon. - Fri. and walking on the weekends.

I just finished week 1 yesterday too! Today I did her No More Trouble Zone workout. If I thought I was sore from RI30 this showed me what sore really is. Ouch! It's a 40 minute workout where she does 7 circuits you repeat twice each. OMG. But, seems like it will be effective.
I start week 2 of RI30 on Tuesday. I'll mostly be doing it Tuesday through Saturday as that is my husbands work schedule. I'd love to start getting up early and do one of her other workouts in the morning before the kids get up and RI30 (since it's shorter and my 3 year old doesn't have that long of patience for me exercising) in the afternoon while my little guy naps. But, so far getting out of bed before 7am has not been happening. Too cold out of bed and too warm under the covers! :)

I finished level 1 week 1 of Ripped in 30 on Thurs. I'm doing it Sun-Thurs with 2 days off. Wow what a workout!! I start L2 tomorrow...can't wait but nervous!! haha
Note...Thurs morning I woke up after NOT eating back my exercise calories with this video and only eating the bare minimum 1200 and I had no energy and felt sick, had to eat extra breakfast and some quick carbs to be able to do the video that day...my suggestion is to definitely try to eat back most of your exercise cal's because this video will take it out of you...just my 2 cents.

    Good Luck everyone!!!

I remeber the days of trying to fit in my exercise when my kiddos were little. It can be challenging to say the least
I am really liking this workout, too. I think I will add some walking in this next week just for fun. Good luck with Level 2, I look forward to sharing our progress!

What a workout is right! I find that I'm pretty hungry too, so I almost always eat my exersise calories. Thanks for the input. It's nice to have someone to share and compare with:smile: Good luck to you, too!

Which one should you start with first......Jillian's Ripped In 30 or 30 Day Shred ?

I did 30 Day Shred first but it was just because it was the first one I happened upon. I really liked it. I just finished week 1 of Ripped in 30 and don't think one is any harder than the other, just different. I am liking it too. I have seen quite a few people though, including my 30 year old daughter, who think Ripped in 30 is more difficult. Good luck with whichever you choose and have fun!

I am intending to start tomorrow ( been planning this since Fri night) I say intending because my body is protesting and Im having a chest cold, being that I have athesma as well im not sure I can work out, but Im damn sure going to try!

I intend to do level 1 for 10 days level 2 for 10 days, and level 3 for 10 days, all the way through. then I want to give myself maybe like a few days- week off then start JM ripped in 30 days.

I also bought zumba fit 2 for the wii. :p trying to make at least some of the workouts fun

SO I guess thats count me in! Good luck to all! stay positive!

I haven't done much of 30DS (only a couple times doing Level 1 On Demand) but I have been all the way through RI30 once and now on my second go I am midway through week 3. Just comparing Level 1 of Ripped to Level 1 of Shred I think Shred is easier. I don't know how much harder it gets but RI30 definitely gets a lot more intense from level 1. I think I would do 30DS and then RI30 (also since that is the order she released them) if I were you. But, that said I'm going to be doing 30DS all the way through after I finish RI30 this time. :)
