Look up exercises you can do at work, some can be done just sitting! Good luck, stay motivated, you can do it!0

I recommend getting a stationary bike and spending an hour or two on it every day while you watch TV or play video games. You don't even have to push yourself very hard to burn a couple hundred calories per hour.
Myself, I have a FitDesk and it's great because it folds up and goes in the closet when I'm not using it.
When I'm at work I listen to classic rock in my headphones and keep my feet and knees moving. I don't know if that actually does anything exercise-wise, but I feel like it keeps my circulation going.
Another thing is, track everything, even the powdered creamer in your coffee at work (it's in the database, AWESOME!). If you have meals you make regularly, set them up as recipes so it's easy to track them. Tracking everything and being honest about it gives you the information you need to make the right choices. Then you can say "Oh, I only need to do X minutes of exercise today to meet my goal" and it's more like a budget than a chore.0 -
Well we can all kick you in the butt but only you can make the decision to keep the momentum going. It's not easy, I'm about 10-15 days in. Everyone told me to start by tracking food and that was the best thing I've done so far. Like someone here said, track everything...you'll be surprised by what you find. I found that when I fall back into old habits I don't eat enough and I start gaining weight. I found that if I eat too late or skip snacks, my body thinks it's starving and I feel like snarfing everything in my path. We're all different and it seems you'll get a sneak peek at what makes you tick when you start tracking.
As far as sitting all day long, yes see what type of exercises you can do at work. Walk up the stairs, around the block, stretch at your seat. But then there are mornings and evenings...a home workout dvd may only take 15-30 minutes. Or like others have said, a bike or treadmill in front of a favorite tv show. It's the little steps that add up.
Feel free to add me if I wasn't being too blunt...I'm 44 too. And just starting out but learning that I'm the best person to kick my own butt but when I need it there are those on here always willing to lend a hand to pull you back up.0 -
tighten your stomach while you sit in the chair during the day, helps with abs0
