The scale finally moved!

I've been going between 285 and 284 for probably a good month now. I've also been eating a good 600 to 700 calories LESS than what MFP set for me. I decided to try eating more and the scale FINALLY budged and went lower than I've been since before Thanksgiving! I'm now 282.2! Woo hoo!

Awesome!! Good for you. We all think well if I eat less Calories than it says I should than I will loose more weight. Unfortunately, thats not true. If you are not eating enough calories your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to the fat. Glad you are seeing an improvement! I just started using MFP and I weigh in on Wednesday so we will see how I do.0

Awesome!
Like I say -- you have to eat to lose. No that doesn't mean a free for all everyday, but you have to give it the proper fuel to function.0 -

Exactly! I thought I was eating enough, but not so little that I wouldn't be able to function--wrong-o! lol0 -
Well done!!
We've all been there, thinking the fewer calories I eat, the more I will lose! So so So WRONG!!!!
I find it difficult to eat all my calories everyday but I am trying hard to get as close as possible.
Keep up the good work!!! Like Chevy88grl said - you have to eat ( the right stuff) to lose :)0 -

Simply stated MFP has already figured out your total calories you need to eat per day to lose 1lb etc. a week. That's WITHOUT exercise. You'll notice that when you actually add exercise in, the calorie limit goes up. Why? Because it's telling you to eat your exercise calories. Large deficits aren't really good to do because while you will lose weight, what kind of weight will it be? In many cases you'll lose lean muscle tissue which LOWERS your metabolic rate even more. Then you have to eat even less to compensate for less of a calorie burn to continue to lose the same amount of weight each week. Be efficient.
Eat and exercise. That's easy!!0
