I am a former WW dieter, and one thing I really liked about that program is that it gives you extra to play with if you want to go out to dinner or have a slice of cake.. Anything like that here? It really helped me to stay on track if I knew that I had "points" to look forward to later in the week.
How does everyone else do it? I am open to suggestions. .

If I want a smaller treat like a piece of cake, I will just include in that days calorie allowance, and maybe have something a little lower calorie for my meals if I don't have enough cals left.
For something higher cal like a takeaway or a meal out, there are a few ways to do it:
Save cals over the week (say 100 a day) so you have some left for your treat.
Do some extra exercise to 'earn' more calories.
Eat lighter the day before and after to balance out the cals.
Just go over and get back on track next day. If you don't go over maintenance cals you shouldn't gain.

I've done all of the above and hasn't affected my loss :)

I think (don't know for a fact) that WW is doing a little like the government. They're holding back on you. If you stay 200 calories under your target everyday for a week, then have a blowout with 1400 calories one day, it will equal the same for the week. Now, having said that, your success for that one day would not look too great if you weigh every day. But in the long run, it probably wouldn't matter.

Disclaimer: I am not a dietician (nor politician). I first joined WW in 1982, reached my goal, became a lifetime member, worked for them for awhile, then gained 1 1/2 times as much as I lost.

As for the government, only the government can give you a "tax rebate" using your money and make you believe that they gave you something that wasn't already yours. :ohwell:

I wish I had gone with MFP instead of blowing my hard earned money on WW - what a waste...

MFP only works because you have to be 150% dedicated to tracking, tracking, eating the right kinds of foods, and tracking, tracking..

This is a no-nonsense website... no gimmics like the Points Plus program... if you want that 200 calorie dessert, you have to be able to fit it in to your current daily caloric goals, or you go exercise to 'earn' the calories back so you can enjoy the dessert... MFP is a great 'tell-it-like-it-is" tool.... The more dedicated you are in using MFP, the more focused you will be..... soooo much better than WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem... MFP is a match made in heaven that gives me the real reality check I need to stay focused....and Im in like Charlie Sheen - IM WINNING! LOL
