I been using this as my exercise but i'm doubting the effectiveness. I'm not sure if i'm better off buying a gym membership and hitting the treadmill for 1 hour instead of doing the aerobics and zumba on wii..I really like the fact that it's at home in behind closed doors..

My litmus test is not how effective the workout is, but how likely you are to DO it. For me, I wouldn't go to a gym. I know it's a better workout to use the free weights and all that, but I wouldn't go because it's so much more of a process -- get a babysitter, make sure you have all your stuff, get in the car, drive there, etc. So I work out at home. Sometimes it's with the Wii, sometimes it's a Jillian DVD, sometimes it's just taking a walk. Regardless, the "ineffective" workouts I do at home are more effective than the workouts I wouldn't do at the gym.

I have used the EA active workout for the Wii, and it was good. It can have you sucking wind easily. The Wii Fit is not as organized and is a lot more casual. But it comes down to effort at the gym or at home. If you are pushing yourself you will improve, if you are just cruising you will see little in return. My wife has tried Zumba and she likes the workout.

Last year i worked out on the wii and lost 20lb in three months but really saw the difference in my inches around my waist. I have had a break for a year because of tiredness from a new job but i am the wii trying the wii out again bcus its free and really helps. I love the zumba game&if you try and keep moving it.makes me sweat!
