Vitamix, Blendec or Ninja

Hello,
I was hoping for some input on the three brands. I know the Vitamix and the Blendec are expensive so I'm wondering if its worth saving to buy one of those or how well does the Ninja work. If the Ninja works good enough that saves me like half from the price of the other ones. But I want to make sure I get the best for my buck and that will last.

    I got the Ninja for Christmas. It works!! it blended up my fruit to make a good smoothie (most blenders dont blend the fruit to smooth, just with chunks) and you definitely can make icey drinks with it, it turns ice to snow as they say on the informercial. I'd recommend it!

    You cannot beat a vitamix... but it is not work the investment if you are only going to make smoothies. You can actually cook soup in your vitamix... make sorbet and ice cream in the vitamix etc. That darn thing is amazing. I don't know about the ninja, but for fast smoothies I just use my handheld emulsifier blender. It will blend up fruit and ice pretty fast, it is not as smooth as the vitamix, but still gets the job done. you can also use the hand held blender to blend soups in the pot. Hand held blender will only set you back 30.00 or so. Kitchen aid, Cuisinart make great ones.

    Thank you both. I do plan to use it for more the smoothies and juices, which is why I do want to make the investment on a good blender.

    i had the ninja for about... three hours. i hated it in comparison to my friend's vitamix. i make green smoothies with spinach and the ninja just did a terrible job. i couldnt even drink it. it is a powerful blender, but awkward and not as versatile as the vitamix. i dont know anything about the blendtec but the vitamix is FANTASTIC

    I love my Blendtec. But I also got it on HSN when they had like 5 flex payments for it. If I had to pay over $400.00 at one time I probably would not have gone with an expensive one. But it is great. Pulverizes seeds and anything else you can imagine.

    I love my Ninja. I've seen and used all of them, but for the price the Ninja is awesome! I can make a smoothie in my Ninja and have a perfect serving size.

    I don't have and have never seen the Ninja in action. All I have to say about that one is if you decide to try it make sure you buy it from someplace that will take it back if it's not what you expected. Costco currently has it near me. If I were to try it I'd buy it there.

    I have a Vitamix and haven't regretted the decision to buy it, ever! It's stood up to almost 5 years of me using it several times a day for smoothies, nut butters, ice cream and anything else I think will work in it. I am very, very happy with how it works.

    I also have never personally used the Blendtec but it has just as great a reputation as the Vitamix does. I was on a yahoo group (I think it was called the Vitamix group but really, it was just people who used powerful blenders). Anyway, on the group the guy who moderated it had both a BT and a VM and did an in depth review. Really, it all boiled down to some preferences in height and how the buttons worked. Both blend beautifully. Both have great reputations and longevity and they're so closely priced that it's just which one you happen to like. BT is a little shorter so it has the advantage of fitting under your kitchen cabinets whereas the VM with the standard carafe is quite tall. I'd recommend either of the two.

    If you're serious about making a good smoothie it's worth noting that the two you see used commercially are the BT and VM almost exclusively. You won't regret the money you spend.

    I got my Blendtec at Costco about 2 years ago. I bought it for myself as a Birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day gift(cause, let's face it-the thing ain't cheap!) It gets used almost daily. I make "ice cream" with frozen bananas for my daughters in summer. I make green monsters almost daily for me. Use it to make horchata and other drinks as well. I have NEVER been disappointed in its abilities and would save up money in an instant if I didn't have the money on hand. I've seen the Vitamix in action as well, and the only reason I went with a BT is because that was at Costco that day. I'd buy a vitamix as well.
