As you lose weight you should see improvement all over.

Muscle in your arms can be improved with bicpes curls and triceps dips.
Thighs will really improve with squats and lunges - using weights if possible.
  • OMG it's like you were looking at me when you picked those areas!!! lol I will keep checking back to see what exercises you are told to do and add them. I've lost 50 pounds (still have 30 to go) but I'm seeing a lot of extra skin and want to get rid of it! Good luck.

Yeah unfortunately there is no such thing as "spot training." Focus on eating clean, and doing full-body exercises to burn the most calories. Doing targeted exercises can help you build muscle, but until the fat comes off, you won't ever see it. So focus on fat burning first!
  • For thighs:

I've been doing all these once a day since November, and it has made a noticable difference both to look at and how my thighs feel!

    Waist:
    Hooping

    and pilates and situps!

    Arms:
squat slightly, cross punch across the body for 2 minutes, rest for 30 secs, repeat. x2.

All the above have worked for me, if you do them daily you'll almost definitely get results! :)

Chair Dips are one of my favorite arm exercises, it helps to tone the triceps (bat wing, flabby arm)

I have the same problem. I have lost almost 50 pounds, but I still have a lot of loose skin. I read that it cou;ld take over a yr. for your skin to catch up. (ugh) As we loose weight our faces gets thinner. Cardio and weight training is good. I don't have weight machines, just hand weights. I range from 5-10 lbs weights.probalby not enough but it is better than nothing. Good luck

    THIS!

You can target and tone muscles - sure, but spot fat reduction just won't happen.

    That's reality.

Not true. There is no thing as spot reducing, as in losing weight in one particular area over another. You by all means can tone and strengthen certain areas though. Lifting weights, push ups, and doing pull ups will strengthen and tone your arms. Squats, lunges, and running will help with your thighs. Situps will help your tummy but until the layer of tummy fat is gone you will not be able to see these. Running helps tone your tummy too believe it or not. Good luck!!

You CAN'T spot reduce (i.e. target/control what parts of the body you lose weight from).
You CAN spot train (i.e. strengthen certain parts of the body)

Start off with a healthy diet - this means a good balance of fats, carbs and protein and a reasonable/moderate daily caloric deficit.

Work in a mix of cardio and strength training while keeping your diet as it should be.

Be patient, it'll happen, but it'll take longer than you want it to.

If exercise could reduce fat in one spot, my face never would have been fat with all the talking I do!
