    Breakfast (6am), Post Breakfast (8am) Pre-Lunch (10am), Lunch (1pm), Snack (3pm) , Pre Workout (5pm) , Dinner (8pm), Midnight snack or Midnight Dinner (11pm-12am). THEN SLEEP.

Problem is, I'm still always hungry.

I lost 65 pounds last year on Medifast which is 5 small "meals" (aka protein supplements/shakes) plus a sensible dinner. Now I've changed to Wonderslim which is 6 small "meals" and a sensible dinner. It works for me. I lose about 2 pounds a week when I stick with it.

When working I eat breakfast, lunch, after workout protein shake, dinner.

When off I usually eat 2 bigger meals and maybe a snack.

The whole eating breakfast and many small meals to maximize metabolism argument is starting to fade for me. I do just as good or better not doing this. I think it takes much longer fasts before your body goes into a starvation mode ;)

    Breakfast - 7.30-8am
    Lunch - 1pm
    Dinner - 5.30-6pm

Sometimes snack at 11am, 4pm or after dinner! Very rarely all 3! :/

    every two hours
    8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm water water water

^^Agree^^ I like that eating pattern, much better than going 4+ hours with no food which a lot of people do during the day.

I eat 4-6 times a day. I eat around 2,200 calories. My RMR is 2,053 and I typically burn 1,000 calories in excercise 5-6 days a week. I tried getting 3,500 calories in but can't eat that much.

    1. Breakfast 6-8 am - Whey shake with peanut butter and banana
    2. Morning Snack 10 am - apple or some other fruit, small babybel cheese
    3. Lunch 12-1pm - typically dinner left overs from the night before
    4. Afternoon Snack 3-4pm - peanut butter and jelly sandwhich, greek yogurt
    5. Pre/Post Workout Shake - Whey shake at the gym
    6. Dinner 7-8 pm - veggies, meat (pork, chicken) and starch

Don't typically snack after dinner because it is so late but if I do it is usually almonds or some type of nut for more protein.

    4-6 times a day.

breakfast which is usually a bit over 400 cals.
11am snack usually 200-300 cals. skipped if i'm working out.
lunch around 1pm. 200 cals or more.
workout recovery meal. i work out anywhere from 11am to 6pm so this one sort of floats around. 150cals or more.
dinner. whenever i finish cooking it, usually 350+ cals.
night snack. about an hour before bed. 200+ cals.

Everything adjusts based on what I'm doing that day, how big the meals are, etc.

I just joined Farrell's Extreme Body Makeover and they want you to eat 6 meals a day. No research here but they claim your body starts starvation mode at 4 hours from the time you last ate. Only one day into it so we shall see how it works out.

Do they want you to set an alarm to eat something in the middle of the night???

    Couldn't help myself.

    Good luck to you anyway!

I eat 5-6 times per day small meals. I usually don't go over 300-400 calories for meals and 100-200 for snacks. I don't get hungry and am losing weight, and I have more energy than before when I only ate once or twice per day.

Over the last week I have found that I feel most satiated when I eat my Breakfast (when I wake up 6:30am), Mid morning snack (10-11am - Or when i start to feel hungry sometimes I just need water) Lunch (12:30pm), mid afternoon snack just before I leave work and head home on the bus. This snack tides me over for my training - then I eat supper.

Somedays my training is later so I make my dinner and eat before hand. I usually don't feel too hungry in the evening after training if I do Its something light :)

Roughly thats 3 meals and 2 snacks.

I eat all day... It's not a normal approach, but it works for me :) I don't have real "meals", rather i graze throughout the day. At least I'm never hungry!

All day, same as shovav91.

i work from home so dont have any sort of set meal schedule, i try to eat when im hungry rather than eating at 'meal times' just for the sake of it.
usually im not too hungry till 1-2pm, so will have lunch then, tea about 8pm when my husband gets home, and maybe a snack or two in between.
if im hungry when i get up or going to gym at lunchtime, i will also have breakfast.
some days im real busy and just have maybe breakfast / a snack in the day and a big meal at night, somedays im starving and seem to eat all day!
whichever i do doesnt seem to affect my loss, my daily calories are up and down but it generally balances out to my goal over the week.

You're cheating yourself out of progress if you're skipping breakfast, IMHO. The earlier you eat, the earlier you'll be hungry again. Proof that eating starts your metabolism. Why wait?

    Do you have said proof?

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Said proof will be if you give it a try and see what happens.

But here is some information for you to read: http://www.the-invisible-gym.com/why-it-is-so-important-to-eat-breakfast.html

Please also feel free to google it yourself as well.

"Everyone" has been brainwashed by cereals companies to believe that breakfast is the most important meal. Those of us who dig a little deeper, and actually read modern research know the truth. Meal timing is irrelevant. Breakfast does NOT boost your metabolism. It may help you with your own personal cravings, but if you dont get those, or can deal with them easily, breakfast is nothing more than extra calories. Calories that i would rather have later in the day when i actually want them.

Trust me, over the last 9 months and 75lbs I've learnt a hell of a lot from the few smart people on here, and reading the proper research, not just believing what I'm told. :)

I changed my diary settings so I just have one long list of food. I eat when I'm hungry. Usually that's lunch, dinner, and a snack.

I eat about every 3 hours. I have breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and a night snack. I like to spread my cals throughout the day because I find it keeps my energy level steady.

do you have just your set meals like breskfast, lunch, dinner etc
or do you eat small and often? if so how often?

im trying to work out the best way to loose weight im eating every few hours small amounts but im feeling so full! lol
My doctor told my mom once they best way to lose weight is to eat all the time. Every few hours eat something. Like a fruit or veg. if your not eating your body doesnt know when it will eat again then store food as fat.

I vary from this schedule occasionally, but usually eat at least 4-5 times daily: 7 am breakfast, 10:30 lunch/snack, ( sometimes: 2 pm lunch/snack), 6 pm dinner and (sometimes 8 pm snack (fruit)

Everything is permitted.... it really depends on the individual
Myself - i eat every 2.5 to 3hrs as i have a large appetite this consists of pre planned - breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, pre-workout snack and then dinner.. This prevents me from binge eating if i become ravenous!

6 meals and maybe some stuff in between...sometimes if a meal is a little bigger than i want it, i will wait an hour to finish it all.

say my meal was yogurt, cottage cheese and some nuts....but i went to the firdge and i was out of cottage cheese...and i need to eat soon, so i substitute a meal replacement shake for the protein cause its all i have fast and ready...well thats gonna put me over my expected cals for that meal so maybe i drink half the shake and wait an hour and drink the other half...i still get all the protein i wanted to get and i don't spill over in calories for one meal.
