Hello Everyone! I've always been a bit on the curvy side...but recently--I've reached a whole new weight level. I now weight 185 lbs which is more than I have ever weighed in my life. I am almost 5 ft. 7 in....but that still puts me nearly 30 lbs overweight. I really need some help and motivation to get this weight off. My boyfriend and I are building a home together and I want to be someone in shape by the time it is completed...at least in shape enough to help move the boxes without feeling like I'm gonna pass out! If anyone has any advice--I'm open to hear it!!!

Hey hun! Congrats on the home...my advice, start now, and start slow. Simply going for a 30 min walk is a great start. When you feel ready, incorporate jogging. Jog for one min, walk for two.
Most important thing is diet--this is 80% of it. Lean protein, veggies, and whole grains are what your body wants.
Check out the forums at www.fitnessrxmag.com...lots of helpful info there!! Goodluck0 -

Good advice from the other folks- Diet is extremely important. Watch your calorie intake and the weight will (almost always) take care of itself. Why did I say "almost always"? Well, exercise will seal the deal. If you drop your calorie intake - AND suddenly do less exercise - you will see no results. So do as everyone tells you to: some kind of exercise. Even if you just sit in a chair and lift #2 tomato cans out to your sides for 10-15 min- add SOME kind of exercise to your lifestyle that is not there now. Combine that with the caloirie counter found on this website and- if you are honest in your reporting- keep the intake at or below what is recomended- and you WILL lose weight.

I would suggest P90X. You can go to youtube and see the results of the program. I'm currently doing the program, but it is not for someone who doesn't want to work hard.0
