I just wanted to ask that for some reason if I over eat on one day - going over by 500 calories - and the next day stay on liquid diet consuming 500 calories less than required - will it balance out? I will not make a habit of doing this but sometimes it happens - will it be OK. Please give your views !

I don't know. I just thought it was funny that I just posted a similar thread in terms of making up exercise the next day. If you were on the Weight Watchers program, the answer would be yes, so I assume you could apply the same concept to counting calories.

I wouldn't suggest it. if you have yourself set at 1200 calories a day and go over by 500 I doubt you've even hit you maintenance calories or your BMR....meaning your probably still in a slight deficit. Just move on and start your day tomorrow. It's okay that your calories in aren't exactly the same everyday. :flowerforyou:

This is not recommended and in fact, will hurt you rather than have no effect. When you over eat on one day, your body will store the extra calories in your fat cells. When you under eat, your body will think you are starving it and slow your metabolism down.

So if you do this on a consistent basis, it will begin to have a negative effect on you.

I just try to take it day by day. If I go over a lot of calories I log it all in (as painful as it is!) and then start a new day as normal. I also try to exercise (if it happens!) maybe 5 or 10 minutes more too. We ALL go over our calories one day or another so don't worry it's totally normal!
