Based from your profile picture, you don't have much, if any, to lose. You're probably gaining muscle.

This happens to me everytime I start back at the gym. I've seen it explained as water weight. Your muscle hold onto water? I think that what was explained to me

You dont' gain muscle in a calorie deficit.

It could be a lot of things. The first thing that comes to mind is water retention, which is common when you start exercising or up the intensity. Many other things affect water retention including time of the month, sodium or potassium levels, etc.

Or it could be as simple as not weight the same time of the day.

Here are two articles you should check out

We need more info to be able to help you.

    1) How tall are you? What's your current weight? What's your target weight?

Why do we need that info? If you're already close to or at a healthy BMI and are just shooting for vanity pounds/getting physically fit, you're going to have a harder time losing. That's just the way it is.

    2) What's your calorie intake like? What are you doing for exercise? How many calories are you burning with exercise?

If your very obese, then you can restrict calories like crazy and be okay. If you're close to a healthy BMI, you're going to want a more modest calorie restriction to avoid the metabolic slowdown that almost always accompany dieting. You also don't want to over-train. The stress can prevent weight loss as well.

Define "healthy".... Net body weight change is a function of calories in vs calories out. Has nothing to do with "healthy", You can get fat and stay fat eating "healthy" foods in excess.

You're likely overestimating your burned calories and underestimating your consumed calories, or you're deficit is so small, it's masked by water weight.
