If you really want to be one of the cool kids, simply eat a mild calorie deficit be mindful of your macros and excersize. When your friends have gained all the weight back they lost on this silly diet, you'll be fit and trim.0

Like a previous poster said, your friends will gain the weight back that they're losing. Especially when you first begin losing weight, you lose quickly because it's "water weight." Your weight loss, should you choose to do it slowly, will be slower but it will be more lasting.0 -
No. This is an original question, and this diet has never been discussed in these forums again.0

Just stick to your calories, hit your macros as much as possible, drink water and if you exercise, eat back the calories!
Rapid weight loss is not sustainable and you won't appreciate it as much because you didn't earn it! No cheats in weight loss0 -

I have done the 17 day diet and it works well. It has 3 cycles of 17 days and a maintance stage. It is low carb and high protein. You start by removing all carbs except for fruit and slowy re-introduce. It is something where you are better off getting the book for though because the book will tell what foods you can eat in each stage and give you receipes etc.0

How fu*king true is this statement. PLEASE don't do this thing - just eat, let the weight come off forever. I could tell you more about why on a biological level this is so wrong - but if you just believe the statement here, you'll be on your way to NEVER gaining the weight back.0 -
This diet promises 10-20 lb weight loss in the first 17 days, but even if it works, that is *unhealthy*! Ideal, sustainable weight loss is slow & steady. To be successful in the long term, make sure you're just losing fat, not muscle, and that you're still getting in all the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. Aim for an average of 1-2 lb per week.0

I am actually doing the 17 day diet. In my first week I lost 3.5kg (8lb). When I've tried diets in the past I always lose big in the first week. I love the principals of this 'diet' and well to be honest its nothing different to any of the other options being offered here. I eat nearly all my calories every day, am never hungry and don't stray. I eat low carb high protein same as most. Dr Moreno just shifts the foods every 17 days so the metabolism doesn't get 'bored'. No different really than all those having a day off or as some put it 'cheat day'. I dont know how this will pan out right now but I feel un-real.
I have lost phenominal weight before and gained it back because I didn't change my lifestyle. This way of eating is for me, I'm not crashing with massive sugar spikes and falls and dont feel bloated from dairy and bread. So I feel like I'm learning alot about me right now. Its been hard just getting the motivation to GO, and the weight was going up up up so It has come down to whatever works for me right now. I can understand that it might not work for some. Its a start and thats all that matters to me right now.0 -
umm am I stupid or does anyone one else not know what a "macro" is?? mind your macros?
confused.0 -

How much protein, carbs, fat, sugar, etc. that you eat per day.0 -
Tried it, like many other of the "miracle diets" I have tried in the past. Didnt really lose weight and ended up feeling sick from it, too much protein and not enough healthy carbs. Now I am doing it right, balanced diet and exercise, just starting so haven't lost alot yet but I feel AWESOME and healthy!0

Not a 17 day diet but as Jan 1 through tomorrow will be 17 days of life changing.events. I have watched my calories ,worked out , treated myself once a week and increased my water intake to 4 pints of water...created a calorie deficit and I feel wonderful. my skin feels great my confident has grown. Ive already gone down from a size 16 to size 14. I feel fabulous. It was hard starting but once you start you dont want to stop! Dont fall for those short term fads. they fade. Do what works for you , consistency is key and its 90% mental.Good Luck!0
