Could Use Some Help Getting Off This Plateau!

There are so many different websites and modes of thinking that tell a person so many different things about how many calories to consume to lose weight. If any of you knowledgeable folks could tell me if my calories intake goal sounds correct or needs to be adjusted, I'd really appreciate it! I've been struggling with a sort of plateau and it's frustrating!

I am 5'8, and I weigh 218 lbs. I work out between 3-5 times per week regularly, but usually 5 times and always for 45 min to an hour. I do strength training, switching muscle groups, and use the elliptical machine.

I drink plenty of water. I try to limit my sodium. I also take some herbal supplements for metabolism (which I just started) including chromium piccolinate.

My job is mostly sedentary, but does include some running up and down stairs and walking.

Because of my weight and my activity level, I am consuming on average 1750 calories per day, and have my goal "set" at 1800. Is this too few or too many? Despite all my work, I've lost 2 pounds in two weeks. =(

Any advice would be very welcome!

2 lb in 2 weeks is good! I'd say keep doing what you are doing!

Are you lifting heavy or doing light weights with lots of reps?

    Hey

Well you seem to be doing a great job you dont want to loose the weight to quickly as it tends to come back i find just as quickly.

If you feel you are eating to much then drop your calories but dont starve yourself.

    Good Luck
