Looking for a few more people to complete our running group. Please reply only if you're serious and can commit to checking in with the group for motivation and support on a regular basis. We're in it for the long haul! There are only a few spaces available:
1. Christine
2. Felicia / Rich
3. Yasmin
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
The goal to train/complete a 5K in whatever time it takes you to get there. I've completed C25K before, but didn't continue to keep up with the running, so now it's time to get back to basics.
Here is how it works:
You'll be asked to complete 3 workouts within the week. It doesn't matter whether you are doing C25K, or just building your momentum up to a 5K. At the beginning of the week, you'll state your running goal (example: I plan on jogging 1/2 mile and walking 1/4 mile increments for x minutes). During the week, you'll update the group with your progress and if your weekly goal was met (or not). Remember that you are in control of your progress, so you should set goals that you are comfortable with.
After you've worked up to 3 miles, you can continue to push yourself further, run your first, second, third, 5K, or whatever works for you. Thanks for your interest!

Hello,
I would like to join this group. Is it set up as a group on here or do we follow this thread?

I'm in if you'll have me! My goal for the year is one 5k a month! I've only ever ran in one and that was last Sept. So this will be a bit of a challenge.0

Thanks and welcome to the group. A few more to go...
Tammi, I'll set up another thread to in order to maintain the closed group. We wouldn't be able to do so in the Groups section (I think).

Felicia, Thanks for doing this again. I'm looking so forward to it. I did 35min walk /jog this morning and it felt so good.0

Great going Yasmin! I plan on completing my walk/jog this afternoon. Thanks for joining. I really want to run my first 5K this time around. I was soooo close, but chickened out!
I'll start another thread some time today so that we can track our results for this week, although it'll be a short week.

Hello,
I am interested in joining in the group. I am a regular runner, but 5Ks are my passion - not interested in any form of marathon, so this is my type of group. My next one is actually on Jan 28, but I will continue to participate after that, as I generally try to get 4 races in per year at least. I am in my crunch week this week, and will be tapering next week for the race - but maybe it will help motivate others. I am still trying to get to the point where I can be competitive in local races, so I can use reciprocal motivation as well
I am a true believer in exercising for health and enjoyment. I want to see EVERYONE succeed, regardless of running ability. If you have the desire to get out there and start walking and eventually running, I want to do my part to help motivate you. I have had good people that have supported me along my journey, and I want to pass that on.
Regards,
Greg0 -
Sure! One of my years goals is to run in at least 5 5k's. I will be starting C25K again. Completed it in October 2011 but didn't keep up with it.0

I'd like to join - is it too late? I ran my first 5K in July, and want to eventually work my way up to a half marathon, but I got out of running after the 5k thanks to an injury and need to start from scratch again. I like the idea of doing one 5k per month - I may make that a personal goal as well, once I work my way back up to that distance!0
