I have a protein shake post workout cos I find it helps with my recovery (less soreness). I buy them from myprotein and I think they taste decent, I blend mine with frozen fruit (berries) to make it more like a smoothie. I use just whey protein but you can also get ones that are more like meal replacements with carbs in it.0

I recently started having whey protein shakes, got 1kg for 15 quid online from bulk powders which is great value and the chocolate flavour is to die for! But they also do strawberry, bannana, choc cookies, choc mint and plain but i havent tried them. If ur not sure, u can get a sample for whatever flavour for 1 pound. I highly recommend it, it's brilliant post work out and has very little carbs or fat!0

Hi, I used to drink protein shakes and considering starting to use them again.
They are good if you want to gain muscle, because I find it's quite hard to get the recommended amount of protein (1g per lb of body weight) to build muscle fast. That being said, I didn't find they bulked me up at all, although I was only drinking them after bike rides for a couple of months, maybe 2 big containers worth in total. Also I was just lifting dumbbells at home, not going to a gym or anything.
I've yet to find one that actually tasted good, and usually the longer you stay on one flavour, the more disgusting it seems to become every time you drink it, to the point I was dreading it and nearly gagging on it after a while. Also it doesn't dissolve in water very well so it can be a bit pastey.
If you are taking protein powder I'd recommend whey protein, and look for protein ISOLATE as this is the most concentrated form of protein powder, normally about 90% of the calories are protein.
I am normally pretty hesitant about taking any kind of diet supplement type stuff but protein is pretty safe and shouldn't have any side effects.0 -

the one i use is 82% isolate, it mixes fine if u use any average shaker, and like i said, the chocolate one tastes glorious!0
