I don't have an HRM and go by MFP's numbers of cals burned. Usually do AMT or elliptical but decided to change things up and tried the ARC Trainer for the first time. I felt like I worked harder, sweated more than usual probably because it was something new... but I'm not sure what to log it as?

Before I got my HRM, I just logged under My Exercises and used the calories burned from the machine. One thing I did find after getting my HRM is that the arc trainer calculated higher calories than my HRM. But I still burned more than I did on the elliptical. Stay with it for a couple of months and you will be surprised at the muscles you build in your legs. Way more than you will build on the elliptical.0

I LOVED it! Felt it ALL over... but the calories burned on the machine was much lower than on the elliptical.
But I didn't put in my age and weight and do with elliptical.

I LOVE the Arc Trainer! I have found that I burn pretty much the same amount of calories on it that I do on the stepmill or elliptical. It usually works out to about 100 calories for every 10 minutes for me.0
