Good morning and Happy June!

This week I still need to work on my regular goals--but in addn, I challenge myself to stay at 1500-1600 cals/day, regardless of exercise.

I did too much overeating last week and as of now I've gained back the 3 pounds it took a month to lose. Now I don't really think i've gained all that weight for real, but just the same, i can tell there's some extra.
So, it's time for me to commit to these goals again--BE STRONG.

#1 1500-1600 cals/day
#2 7 glasses h2o/day
#3 50min exer 5d/week

:drinker:

amypyr--you definately had a busy week. my #2 has graduation in a cpl weeks--but i don't think i'll be sad then b/c she'll still go to the school. #1 is year round and my preschool is too. i think i'll feel it when she starts kinder in august. :frown:

i'm TIRED...having the puppy is like a newborn in that i have to get up with her in the night. definately feeling the effects of that.
i will do my exercise today, espec as i'm stuck at home in am waiting for new washing machine. the old one broke partway thru the cycle. it's 12 yrs old and just died (with a load of wet clothes and a tub of water-- ).
actually looking forward to doing laundry with the new machine! hehe

alright, time to focus on the kids. later---

Haven't been on in awhile ladies, and don't know how often during the week I'll check in, but just wanted to pop in and say HOWDY to all you wonderful stay at home moms. And for those of us who have school-age children, are you ready for the busy, hectic summer that awaits us? Counting down the two weeks until my schedule and lifestyle has to totally change. I'm extremely thankful that the gym that I belong to just opened up a section called XRCADE for kids 7 and older with active games like dancing, kickboxing, and snowboarding for the kids to do while I'm burning away my calories. My daughter and I even have a "dance off" when I'm done burning my calories, and it's fun (although she always beats me).

Hope you all are doing well. I've been slipping up massively, but have a new goal of keeping on track until June 19 when I go away. Need mini-goals and dates to keep me focused. Oh yeah, and a wonderful husband who is 100% behind my efforts.

Have a great day and a wonderful week if I don't get back to you...

Amy - Thanks for the warm welcome! :) Wow..congrats!!! How old is your daughter? My #1 is in Pre-Nursery 1 this year.

JadePearl - My daughter is 5. She'll be starting Kindergarten in August.

Stacey - I know what you mean about how I'll feel when my #2 starts Kindergarten. I was sad when she graduated preschool because she's my youngest, and my oldest is finishing Kindergarten in just over a week. Since they're so close in age, it seems time is flying by even faster! But there's another part of me that is happy #2 graduated preschool, since both will be in the same school on the same schedule. And since I work part-time, I'll be off work each day when it's time to pick them both up.

I love my job. It's the best of both worlds! And I can bring them with me when they don't have school!

    Hello ladies..

I dont hear back from the board for 30-45 days..but my lawyer told me to go through with the surgery beacuse she has a really good feeling about it..She said there is no way the judge will deny me...Still praying and keeping the faith going..I thank you for all the prayers and thoughts..It helps me to come here and now I have some kind of support system although you all dont know me ...I thank you all..Hope everyone is having a good day..thinking bout taking a nap kinda tired..:flowerforyou:

dana, glad you're hanging in there. i don't understand what the lawyer means by going forward with the surgery...before you hear back from the board?? won't the board be mad that you didn't wait for their decision and therefore deny you the benefits?? if so, does the lawyer cover the costs?

i'm not saying you should wait--that's b/n you and your dr. i just don't understand your lawyer's advice and the consequences of following it.

will still be thinking positive for you--that the request will be approved, that surgery will go forward, and that the outcome will be successful. ((hugs))

See my lawyer has been doing this for many years.. and actually its only one woman who is deciding my health issuses the judge..I have to go for it cuz I could die if I dont...My lawyer knows what she is doing I trust her she has never led me down the wrong path...I am doing the surgery so I know what is wrong and let them fix it..I cant just keep getting sicker so I'm doing what my lawyer tells me to do..

I'm not going to get in any trouble for doing what I feel is right for my health if I do I do...But I am doing this so I can be better for my kids...

Hope everyone is having a good day..:flowerforyou:

hi folks! yesterday was crappy as far as healthy eating/moving goes.

but i did have a good am with kiddos. we met a cousin of mine at caesar's and the kids loved seeing his hotel room and the view and the fountains, etc. and he was so good with them. that part of the day warmed my heart.
and then we went to bellagio to the conservatory. i love it every time i go! they change the displays seasonally and this time they even had birds. i took lots of pictures.

i'm not talking about the food part....

and today is much better, when i push myself to exercise, i feel so much better about myself. and feel like i can reach my goals.
i'll admit that it's been a daily struggle lately to keep trying to lose this weight. but i tell myself that if i stop, i'll be even more disappointed and i don't want to be back in the 140's. it's just too heavy for me to enjoy my life.
so after much dilly dally, i made it to the Y today and biked and walked. and i've been here reading inspiring stories to help me stay with it.
the hardest time for me is 3pm on. i'm tired, stressed. i know what to do--it's just the execution of it.

well, i'm signing off for now--want to cuddle the puppy a bit. i'm so glad i have her. baby sleeping and so i can cuddle w/o guilt.

I really think its due to the weather that so many people are falling sick. Golly...my kids have been sick on and off. Am keeping fingers crossed. As for my calories, I have been drinking cold rose syrup (yup, it ain't good coz it does have calories in it) but it really taste soooooooo nice. Ha!Ha! I know...I know...its no excuse.

Its so hard to loose weight when am still BF-ing.:ohwell:

    Good luck everyone!!!

Good morning! I'm checking in finally. I didn't realize how busy the end of the school year was until this year! This week my son had field day, an AR celebration, end of the year class party, and "camping out" in the library! It's been crazy! But, there's only 3 more days of school left.

My eating and exercise hasn't been good since my parents came to visit a week ago. I did do much better yesterday and it showed on the scale this morning, so I'm thinking most of my gain was just water weight.

Stacey, are you going to post a picture of the puppy? Did you get your kugel recipe posted? I hope everything is going well today.

JadePearl, I hope your kids are feeling better. I just looked at your profile and saw you are from SC. What part? I'm in NC just north of Charlotte, and I have family in Greer, SC.

    Kugel Recipe #1

    1 lb egg noodles medium
1 container (12oz) Tofuti sour cream
1 cup milk (rice or soy ok too)
1 cup sugar (or 3/4cup ok too)
    6 eggs
    3 tsp vanilla
    1 cup applesauce (natural, unsweetened)
cinnamon, sugar to sprinkle on top
Topping: crushed cornflakes, 2-3 tablespoons margarine or butter--crush the cornflakes, sprinkle on top, drizzle melted margarine over kugel, sprinkle more sugar and cinnamon(optional)

Need 9x13 glass pan, spray with Pam
    Cook noodles, drain
Mix all togetther while noodles hot
    Pour kugel into pan
Bake at 350 for 45-60min w/o foil (or cover corners if necessary)
Check often for burning on top
Should be brown around edges and toothpick should come out clean in middle

Once cooled, cut into squares. Also freezes well.

    Enjoy!

I can relate. I still have some pictures on my camera from Oct. Please don't feel you need to rush. I just wasn't sure if I had somehow missed the recipe post. I've been rather unorganized myself lately. There's a part of me ready for Summer break so things will slow down just a bit. Not much, but a bit.

Weekends aren't great for me either. I had very little for breakfast, was active all morning, then went for a late lunch/early dinner at Friendly's and ended up stuffing myself.

Stacey, I love your last goal! I need to do more of that myself.

thanks! welli did exercise--only 25 min tho b/c hubby wdn't take care of dog for me to be able to exercise more. whatever.:grumble:
fun thing for kids today was the girls took gymnastics and we went to the library and they watched one of the new movies they picked out.
played outside with little one and actually gave him my attn.
he also played at park with dad for 45min.

y'know what helped--last night we sat down and all listed things we wanted to do this weekend--from grocery shop to play barbies with mommy to math tutor appt to picnic in the park.
i explained we might not do them all but everyone having a say was important i think. so tomorrow we'll see which other things we want/need to do on our list and enjoy that.
i love my kids but i've been home so many yrs now, i def feel the burnout and tune them out. this helps me refocus on what's important, to cherish the moments now as these kids keep growing up....

now for you--EAT BREAKFAST tomorrow!! you matter! :flowerforyou:

Stacey - Rose syrup is sweet syrup infused with rose flavor and BF is breastfeeding. :)

Amy - Actually I am not from USA, I am from South East Asia. Not to sure why when I click on Spore, I became SC...hmm. Hope you don't mind me not being in SC, USA...

    Re: Weekends
Weekends are never good for me...its because my #1 tends to want to go out and that means we are eating out and that means... more calories!!! :(
