since you are working out, you need to eat at least 1200, if your goal is 1200 calories per day and you work off say 500 calories your body is only getting 700 calories to survive on for that day, which isn't a lot, your body needs at least 900 calories a day just to work correctly.

Obviously what you are doing isn't working for you.

Take a look around the forums. There are a lot of forum posts about this exact thing. The answer from people that know and that have been there is to eat more.

I would say switch up the things you eat and have less processed foods...Im not a clean eater but adding fresh veggies and fruits and "good calories" should help boost weight loss....one more thing you can try is lowering your sodium i intake....one day i saw on your diary a sodium count of over 5000....way to much...im not scrutinizing just trying to help you a bit..good luck

You would think this, however what happens is that your body enters starvation mode. That means it will take everything you are consuming and store it. If you don't eat enough, your body isn't getting consistent nutrients/energy, so it will conserve everything it gets by turning it into fat.

However, if you are consistently eating (small meals are best), your body reacts as if it will always be getting food, and it will not store food.

You should maintain a 1000 calorie MINIMUM after exercise in order for your body to not be in starvation mode.

A couple of suggestions- Have your thyroid checked. Go low carb on either the Paleo Diet or South Beach or your own version. Try The Clean Program by a Dr. Junger. For me Low Carb is the key and I am pretty active.

Hmm If you dont want to eat more...than it may be what you are eating and staying under...Are these high fiber/protein items...Lean meats..Portions...all that play a part..>Good luck to you!

Check what youre BMR is... it is probably higher than 1200. I know it's opposite of what we're lead to beleive (less calories, more exercise = higher fat loss) however that isn't always the case. Sometimes you actually need to eat more to lose. I didn't lose at 1200 which is what MFP put me at... I now eat at my BMR and am losing constantly.

Exactly.. because the slower you lose, the easier it is to keep off.

You didn't put this weight on overnight so stop trying to take it off over night.

    That simple.

I'm 5'9 and eat between 1700-2000 some odd calories a day.. and I've lost 29 pounds in about 12 months.
