Plateaus: Up my intake or ride it out??

I have searched the last hour, and cannot find a thread that answers my question! I started MFP about 4 months ago. I started out at 158, and am currently at 144. I'm 5'6" and want to get down to 125, maybe 130 if it looks good. In the first 3 months I lost 14 pounds. I was so excited. I ate 1200 cals most of the time, upping my limits on holidays, family dinners, and one weekend day a week, but rarely over maintenance. But it seems like as soon as the new year started, my losses completely stopped! I have goals of losing 8 pounds by may (3.5 more months) but thats looking rather impossible right now! When it stopped budging I upped my intake to 1440, but still haven't seen it go down. If anything, it goes up for a few days after a hard run. I don't know what to do!! I plan on upping my intake again to 1690 ( half a pound of loss a week goal), but I'm really worried its not going to work. My question is, should I up my intake to 1690 or should I stay at 1440 and ride the plateau out? I like 1690 cause I'm never hungry...it's surprisingly hard to eat that much!! I know as long as I don't go over maintenance changing my calories isn't doing any harm as far as gaining, what would be the wisest course of action to start losing again!

Are you working out? If you are, how many calories do you burn?

I do most everydays. Even if I don't log it. Usually I burn between 200 and 500, depending on how motivated i am, I started running 5 to 6 days a week for at least 20 minutes each time. Actually when I started running more is when my weight started stalling. But I like running and I feel like if I stop running 4 days a week minimum I'll gain.

And I have stopped for several days due to injury, but only lost a half pound, which came right back (water?). I stalled at 152 as well, but not this long and difficult!

If you aren't eating back the calories you burn, start! This seems to break a lot of plateaus.
