BMR and TDEE?

Okay, so the BMR calculator on here says my BMR is 1,597.

The Fitbit says I burn, on an average, 2,217 calories a day (I assume that includes my workout calories).

So would the 2,217 calories be my approximate TDEE?

Thanks!

If I understand the Fit Bit correctly, yes, it should give you your TDEE. I have a BodyBugg, and that's what it does.

The fitbit doesn't measure the heartbeat so I wasn't sure if it would give me a mostly correct TDEE or not.

Bumping this up because I'm still not sure of the answer.

    Yes.

I don't know much about the FitBit so that part I can't help you with.

If you're pretty sure of your BMR you can multiply it by an activity factor to get an approximate TDEE.

    Activity Factor
1.2 = Sedentary (Little or no exercise and desk job)
1.3-1.4 = Lightly Active (Light exercise or sports 1-3 days a week)
1.5-1.6 = Moderately Active (Moderate exercise or sports 3-5 days a week)
1.7-1.8 = Very Active (Hard exercise or sports 6-7 days a week)
1.9-2.0 = Extremely Active (Hard daily exercise or sports and physical job)

Yes, but it's stil an estimate. There's many factors that effect the out side of the energy balance equation that no online calculator can make adjustments for.
