Where do you get your burn?

What's your workout preference?
Do you like to work out at the gym, at home doing vidoes, walking the dog, a bike ride? Why do you perfer that method?


I work out at home, mostly doing a stationary bike. Why? Because I can watch TV and knit while burning calories. Plus the nearest gym is a 25 minute drive, and getting the motivation to drive that far is hard.

    25 minutes away - wow, totally understand your choice to workout at home! I workout at Gold's Gym and do classes. I LOVE classes......you know the saying, misery loves company! LOL. Actually, I think exercising on my own is SO boring and I would never have the motivation to do it. I have compared exercising on my own to exercising in a class and I push myself so much harder in class and burn so many more calories!!! Classes have fun music and fun routines!!!

    I go to gym 3-4 times a week, have a PT twice a week and enjoy an early morning walk 3-4 times a week.

    I don't think I would cope not having a gym close by. I think I'd almost move just to be close to one lol.

    I too am a ways from any "gym". Plus have 4 kids. I have committed to going to one exercise class per week, there is a really great lady who does awesome classes in a few towns surrounding me. I also like to get together with a friend and do a video or challenge each other to create our own workout. We both like to do cardio bursts with muscle/weights in between. Have to get more serious here soon if I want the weight to go. We also, as a family like to go skiing together in the winter months. Find fun in fitness!

    The gym is my only outlet and way to get me time, if I worked out at home kids would be interrupting me. So I love the gym! I have been doing BodyPump and BodyCombat. Love them.
  • I like to lift weights at home because I'm a bit of a grunter and I get my cardio in at the gym. It's a nice mix! My gym is only five minutes away so that helps.

    i personally do not like going to a gym so I ride a bicycle as much as possible. even with the weather turning bad I will still do 30minutes to an hour a day commuting either to work or running some errand or getting food. Any excuse to get some good cardio in.

    I also started volunteering at a place where I have to do lots of lifting and pushing carts full of heavy things.

    I do yoga at home and also at a yoga studio once a week which I bike to (10 miles each way).

    i lift weights 3 times a week in my garage, i do two days of cardio at the gym (2 minute drive), and some times i throw in some yoga at home.
    when the weather is nicer, i take walks around the lake that is about a half mile from my house.

    I like doing my beachbody workouts, so home For me! I get a great burn, red face and at the end I can jump in the shower or get a healthy snack. I only like going to the gym I run on the treadmill

    I run or walk outside (on the footpath near my home or by the beach if I have time to drive there n the weekend). And do strength training in my garage at home. Its not very convenient for me to join a gym, but I would like to do some classes so may look at it this year.

    i go to a climbing gym 2-4 times a week, occasionally go for a run and walk my dogs. ive never set foot in a regular gym

    I love to mountain bike or hike with my dog when it's nice out, but now that it's winter I really like spinning class at the gym. The instructor definitely makes me work harder than I would make myself :)

    I seriously cant get enough heavy lifting at the gym.
  • I love walking with music. I walk around the neighborhood and recently been walking to and from work. I love to do Zumba and recently I've added intense calisthetics( 3 times a week) with " workout trainer" which is a droid app. Last spring I did bike riding and want to continue with it, when the weather gets warmer.
  • I'm hooked on Just Dance 3 on the Wii Running the stairs by the lake. I think I counted 255 steps last time.
