Hey Everybody
The last couple days I have recieved alot of great information and help about vitamins-
I came across another question about the over the counter vitamin caleld One a Day womens
Theres a few different kind I think- Active mind and body-active metabolism-petites--im sure there is more kinds too!
Does anybody have any reccomendations? (I kinda have a hard time swallowing larger pills if they are not gels/capsules)
Any advice on this would be great- if you thought it worked good and reccomend it or even if it didnt work and you dont reccomend it!
I hope I get some feedback!
Thank you!

I consulted a dietition and they said if you eat right, you don't need a multi-vitamin. But I take one daily (One a Day Gummies!) But in Canada we have One A Day Womens, Weight Loss etc. I think it's good to take one, unless you eat perfect.0

Gummy vitamins! Any brand.0 -
I use Rainbow Light Women's One (I think they have mini tabs). It's food based and vegetarian. I really am happy with it, no tummy issues or anything. I hate big pills as well, but this one isn't too bad! GL!0

I take a One a Day Women's with extra calcium. I have a dairy allergy so I gotta get it in where I can!0

I use the one a day for women as well as a calcium and vitamin D supplement, which my gyno recommended because I am over 25 and women start losing bone mass more easily after 25. I agree with the poster who said a multi vitamin should not replace proper eating though.0

I take the gummies!!
The regular pills tend to make me feel nauseous about 20 minutes after I take them.0 -
I would just avoid vitamins in general -

Overall in America we typically aren't lacking vitamins and minerals as much as we fear we are. If you are really worried about it, I recommend using the USDA food tracker for a week or so, which will give you full nutritional estimates based on what you've been eating. I know every time I've done it there isn't an overall lack of anything in my diet, and I'm certainly not the most healthy eater you'll ever meet! (Although I'm certainly not the worst, either!)0 -

taking them with food will alleviate that. I always take mine with my breakfast and no nausea. If I take them on an empty stomach my tummy feels a little off for a couple of hours0 -
It's good for you to split the pills in half and take one with breakfast and one with dinner. That way your vitamins are spread out so you don't pee as many out in one sitting, and the size is a lot more manageable!0

Ok, so I take the one a day womens formula with bone and breast support because breast cancer runs in my family. I leave it on the kitchen table so when we sit down for dinner every night it is right in front of me so I dont forget it and I can take it with my food. I think that vitamins made a big difference in the way I feel. It helps with a lot of different things so if your wondering which one to take my advice would just be to take a multivitamin! lol! Good luck!0

I don't take store-bought vitamins because 1. I cannot be certain of their sources and 2. too many binders and fillers
I get most of my vitamins and minerals from food, but on days that I cannot, I use natural food-based supplements to get the rest of my vitamins. I used to have to take sooooo many pills to get my nutrients (I am anemic with a low B12 level and have osteoporosis) and would almost always (still) be low on iron, B12, and calcium. This is because most nutrients in so-called vitamins are not absorbed by the body in the quantities given on the label (more about 20-60% depending on the source). I am now off all vitamins and prescriptions because of whole food supplements and my levels are normal (finally!).0
