Vitmains...

So, I've decided to start taking some vitamins, because I know I lack nutrients, because I can't stand veggies, the only one I eat is green beans and well, I have to literally gag and choke myself to swallow them. I like lettuce, but nothing on it, so it's pretty bland. Also, I'm lucky to get two meats a day in, and milk, God forbid, I hate milk, but I wet my cereal with it! haha...I was told by my doctor that my B-12 level was low (hence started a monthly B-12 injection) and my Vit D (way low and I possibly THINK that's the reason for my anxiety and depression) so I'm on a 50,000 IU per week and 2,000 daily Vit D. I've decided to take the following and if any of you are a nutritionist, dietician, etc, please give me an insight on if these would be okay! :)

1 complete multivitamin - Dietary supplement (Equate brand)
2 Calcium - 600 mg
1 Vit A - 8000 I.U.
1 D3 - 2000 I.U.
1 Super B-complex

What are your thoughts?

Why are you taking extra vitamin A? It is a fat soluble vitamin and will not be excreted in the urine if you get too much (unlike water soluble vitamins do). The others are great, especially since you are deficient in vitamin D (very common actually) and under a doctor's care.
  • Good choices. I'd add magnesium and fish oil gels for Omega-3. I also take Chromemate and L-Glutamine.
  • Thanks everyone for the input...My mom picked these up, I guess I will cut out the Vitamin A and add some fish oil ::yuck::
