I am moving around, not sat around eating junk food, trying to eat healthy , lots of fruits of different kinds through out the day , I just don't know what else to do. Please any suggestions would be great. I do have Epilepsy and Nuro cardio syncope so it cant be too strenuous. Please help i have no other ideas at all and the weight gain instead of loss is becoming very depressing.

Have you been keeping to your calorie limit? it could be a number of things, but its impossible to gain that weight from fat if you've been hitting your goals.
It could be muscle, water, or something else if you are. Don't give up! I felt the same way for ages, nothing ever shifted, but i lost my first 1lbs this week! keep going!

Hi! I'm sorry about your weight gain. It is so hard to lose weight.
Maybe when you're on the couch you can lift some light weights, like 2-5lbs. Just some curls and whatnot. Or perhaps you can "shadow box" which kinda looks and feels ridiculous, but it gets your heart rate up. Also both things aren't too strenuous.0 -
great on you weight loss even 1lb is a good start right. It's getting harder with the gain i try to keep under my goal and i do most of the time. i drink water but not as much as i should do. I do my eliptical but doc says treadmill is out of question right now due to the syncope. I have been able to muck out the horses and other things recently but like this morning i could only clean two out of three. rehoming one so i can have less stress that way. It' just so hard. I am alone all the time apart from the children of course but has many know being alone has no motavation at all. I do have a really good friend that just started this and we talk on the phone but even that's hard it's better with company.0

Yea I work from home so I'm on my own most of the day in my studio...sucks! It can be so hard just to even get up in the morning sometimes, and i know the fridge is going to call me and no one is going to stop me!
But I think this site is super helpful for motivation and a lot of people are in the same boat, just venting out on here is a good therapy!

yes it is , i started off here at 170 wanting to loose at least 15lbs but instead i gained 10. I am usually a very competitive person and have to beat some one if they loose a lb i want to loose 2. I just can't be bothered any more.0

I've been there before. My best advice for you is to stay on MFP constantly (logging accurately, messaging and reading blogs for inspiration and suggetions, support and getting support from MFP friends, etc.) and STAY OFF the scale for a while. Maybe even a month or more, so that you can focus on making changes and how those changes make you feel (rather than have the number on the scale dictate how you feel). Best wishes0

Seeing how you have a health condition, I would check with your doctor and make sure the medications you are on don't cause weight gain. Especially if they have recenlty changed your medications.
I don't know much about epilesy or syncope, but maybe you ask the dr if there is a local support group with local people that have the same conditions. That could help so you don't feel so isolated and alone.
Best wishes to you.0 -
It would help if we could see your diary. how is your salt intake? water? are you measuring your body? somtimes if you gain muscle it can keep the scale steady or rise, but the inches could be dropping. are you on any meds like anti depressants or hormonal birthcontrol? I personally had weight gain isuses from the AD's and my depression was caused by my HBC. got off both(doctor monitored), much happier now. My doc reccomended to take a daily calcium supplement to help with mood and water weight, it works for me but make sure its safe for you to take. Some people also can have a gain if they start or increase the amount of fake sugars they consume.0

yes i am on meds that gain weight and also doesnt help that i have to have a lot of sodium intake but that to me just sounds like an excuse,, not slamming any one just my personal opinion. I do weigh myself once a week for the weekly weigh in. Water intake is probably not what it should be i drink no where near 8 glasses. I have asked my doctor and he suggested that i do a quarter of the excerise i used to do . I used to work out about 2 hours a day doing different things but now with a set back in health i cant do that any more. I do have an open dairy or at least i thought i did lol0

I was losing really slowly as I'm Hpothyroid and also have mobility problems so spend most of each day in a wheelchair. I dropped wheat and went low carb last August and the weight loss did increase for a while, although I'm struggling now with erratic periods and peri-menopause so back to only losing 3-4 lb a month as having water retention and bloat for most of the last 2 months!
I'm trying supplements to help with estrogen and cortisol levels to reduce cravings etc to see if that helps any.0 -
yes my condition makes it hard for me to stand for a long period of time it makes me faint, then if i faint from the syncope i can sometimes go into an epileptic seizure, I was maintaing my weight at 170 but even that had gone up from 165 i could deal with that but the extra ten i have on me now is what depresses me. I am usually one that is always in jeans or leggings i am now in sweat pants which makes me feel worse. I tried my jeans on yesterday and i couldnt even get them fastened all but one pair.0
