I don't know if anyone's posted about this before but I'm just curious about the comparison of U.K sizes and U.S sizes? As there is a lot of Americans that post on here about what size they started at and what size they are now it would help me understand a bit more if someone could enlighten me on the difference between sizes. For example I'm a U.K size 12, what size would I be in the U.S? What would a size 0 be in the U.K?

When I shop in UK I wear 2 sizes larger than here in the US, I am a size 8 so I would wear a size 10 in UK

UK sizes tend to run about two sizes different that US sizes. A UK 14 = US 10.

You can thank Vanity Sizing for that one.

ETA: Here's a handy website for clothing size conversions:

If it's any consolation, you aren't the only one. ;-)

Ok that would make me a U.S size 8 then? At least I'm a size 8 somewhere! lol x

this seems about right based on everything I've seen, BUT different clothing brands in the US also vary pretty wildly on sizing. I find the higher end brands run a bit more "true to size" - aka smaller so it might only be a one size difference for those things.

I like looking at American clothes, because I feel happy at being 2 sizes smaller!

According to the conversion site U.K sizes are only 1 more size than U.S sizes, but I always thought it was 2 sizes
Our adult sizes (as far as I'm aware) start at size 6 and go up in 2's so 6,8,10,12 etc and I thought that U.S sizes started at 2 ( I know there's size 0 but that would be a U.K size 4 which most shops don't stock) and go up in 2's as well so it's 2,4,6,8 etc.
I'm confusing myself now! LOL
