Hi everyone! i'm newer to this site but I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I'm doing AWESOME with my calorie counts just not doing so good these past 3 days with getting on my bike and doing my 10 miles! Last week I got this new bike and I rode 10 miles a day. In 7 days I had 70 miles and then I just stopped! I was SO proud of myself but now I just feel like it doesn't matter. My husband is not supporting me at all in fact no one is! I have no one to say hey how did your dieting day go? So I was just wondering if anybody had any encourfaging words? I have a LONG way to go but I always seem to give up after a week. Like I said I am still on limited calories and I quit drinking pop the way I was and uped my water I just can't see to get on my bike! Hope some one out there can give me a hand! Thanks for listening.

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged. But that's what we are here for! Join one of the groups- doesn't matter which one, just post a message and say- Hey I want to join! I guarantee the response will be a warm welcome.

Then post often about how you are doing because it does feel good to get an atta-girl to keep you working in the right direction.

I am proud of you for your 70 miles! I could not do that:laugh: My poor backside would be bruised for a month!!

    You can do this! :flowerforyou:

I know how you feel, by the time I get home and get dinner made kids fed and to bed I am so tired I don't want to do anything, but when I do it I feel so good. Good Luck!!!!
  • save enough calories and fat grams a day and ride your bike to a snow cone place, dairy queen or sonic. I walk with my 2 babies to sonic every day and get a small cone for my 19 month old and share one with my 6 month old to reward myself for walking a mile to get one:) They love it and it keeps me walking when I don't want to! Hint: snow cones do not have fat in them yeah! Good luck remember you are doing this for yourself not for anyone else.

Team - a new thread started every Friday - join anytime. Post as many times or as few times as you want. • I completely understand what you are going through, i feel that same exact way all the time... i started working out a month ago, and everytime i look at myself in the mirror after all the hard work and dieting i look the same way when i started a month ago!!!... The point is i am not giving up, because i know that this sord of thing takes time, and the most important thing is PATIENCE!, and in order to have patience you need to stop focusing on the overall goal, and focus on daily goals. If you feel lazy, or if you feel like whats the point, just remember that overall goal, but only to help you focus and motivate yourself on daily short term goals... Wait!!!! so I'll repeat myself in a smaller phrase so that you can keep this message in your head the next time you need to work out, or eat right... just think to yourself

"Believe in the long term, and Focus on the short term..."

Don't give up, you can do this. Dig in, find it in yourself to get moving, if not on the bike, start walking. Find hills to climb, work your way up to it, be patient with yourself. Unforunately sometimes others won't give you the suport you need. You need to support yourself. Stick with this and in time with some success that will motivate you along.

Get your motivation from within. Who are you losing weight for anyhow? I am doing this all for me. I know that my husband loves me no matter what. The reason I am getting healtier is for me only. While it is extremely nice to get the recognition from others, give yourself the kudos.

yeah, kiddo! 70 miles is nothing to laugh at - that is a SERIOUS accomplishment. pat your OWN self on the back! The secret ti sticking it out longer than a week is to promise yourSELF to get your patootie on that bike on day #8 and then you will have reached a milestone! I'm pulling for you - you can do this!

You got me motivated just reading you got your bike and start riding. You don't see it, but your heart is loving those bike rides and in return your heart makes more High density lipo proteins (HDL's) they are the clean up guys of your arteries. So you may not know it on the outside but your heart is smiling on the inside. Plus I think you will motivate your husband to get out there too, if you just keep doing it. Just Do it now for you, and your husband will start to notice in and few weeks and he may ask to go ride with you...Whats nice about biking is your butt and legs will get tone over time and you will loose the pear shape a lot of us women have. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK:happy:

You are doing AMAZING - making this committment means that YOU CAN DO IT, and YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL, so you are already on your way to losing all your weight and reaching your goal.

Your biking has inspired me to get off my butt, right now, and go for a 3km run.

    Keep up the great work!

Hi there! I know this can be a daunting process sometimes...but you seem to be doing a great job. You have the calorie counting under control and wow...70 miles!:drinker:

You can do this! And the routine of exercise has to become just that....ROUTINE. That can take some time. Keep working at it and you will get it down.

Don't be so hard on yourself! Trust me, you are accomplishing so much by what you are doing on a daily basis and with being HERE and posting about this. You know what to do!

There are some things in life that you have to do on your own no matter what....fortunately getting fit is NOT one of them. We're all here for you!! Vent your heart out if you need to...Get your butt on that bike and ride sister ride!! Don't get discouraged, its easy to do, but in the long run when you have your health and living your life fully...you'll have no one to thank but yourself! And believe it or not thats a good feeling knowing you did it on your own...well with a few encouraging words from your pals here  LOL
