High Protein = Nausea?

Recently I've been eating a ton of protein (powder, bars, lots of meats, eggs, etc.) and I've noticed that I've been feeling really nauseous throughout the day. I exercise and sleep a lot, not to mention drink a lot of water. Has this happened to anyone else? Or does anyone know why?

Tats happened to me before. But usually it's just too many supplements instead of actual foods. Try laying off the powder and bars and making sure you're getting fruits and veggies with natural sources of protein. spinach in your omelet, fruit with nuts, and veggies at meals.
Not to get too personal, but if you're not getting enough fiber that could be the culprit, too. If your system isn't getting flushed regularly your stomach will feel icky. Try eating more beans (protein & fiber) or having some fiber cereal every day (I eat fiber one original even if I'm doing low carb).0 -
Maybe your body needs time to adjust. I am 5'4" and 130 lbs and eat that much also. It might be an ingredient in a specific item like the bars or powder you use. Or a food sensitivity to something else like eggs, dairy, or a certain meat. I'd try cutting one thing you usually have out for a few days, trying a different one every few days, and see if you can maybe pinpoint something that's upsetting your stomach.0

right off the bat you are eating too much protein. Its 1g protein/lb LEAN body mass... NOT total.
For example: @150 lbs and 20% BF you would be taking in 120g Protein (150 * 0.80 = 120g)
Make sure you are taking in quality carb/fat sources. Odds are you are not on a Keto diet so make sure you are taking in your carbs so your body can fuel itself and you don't burn muscle. A lot of water is great, but too much will flush your system of nutrients. make sure its not too much.0 -

I am having a similar problem, except it is with protein bars and/or Fiber One Bars with added protein. I have a similar problem with eggs - but I do not have an egg allergy. I have a hard time eating eggs as a stand-alone food, but I can eat quiche or many other foods made with eggs without any problems.
I am having a difficult time trying to pinpoint what is triggering the nausea. At first, I thought it was just the protein bars because of their rich texture, but Fiber One bars have a milder texture and I react the same way with both - I can't even finish eating the bar before I start to feel nauseous. Then, I thought it was the high protein or the soy used in making the bars, but I do not react the same way when I consume Boost protein drinks, fish, meat, beans, nuts, edamame, etc.
The only common denominator between the two bars is the chocolate covering used on both bars. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Although I would always prefer a freshly cooked healthy meal, I am often on the road running from one appointment to another, so I started eating these bars because it was a much better alternative to fast food. Fresh fruit used to be my snack of choice but I recently learned that I have to substantially limit the amount sugar (even natural sugar) that I intake. I am running out of healthy on-the-go foods to eat...I love celery, but it doesn't keep well in the purse - LOL. Anyone have any ideas?0 -
Do the bars use a sugar substitute, especially a sugar alcohol? Getting too much of that, even if they're different substitutes can make you nauseous.0

I haven't had a protein bar in a while... are they high in iron? I have had to take vitamins with higher iron recently (same while I was pregnant) and it never failed, I always got nauseous. This may not be the case... just another thing to consider.0
