Ok so here is the deal I am going to go on a shopping trip tomorrow...
My mission spend less the 50 bucks and only buy healthy
less than two items that could be considered junky
my limits I only have a mini fridge and a microwave
I am also a picky eater I prefer fruits over veggies.
Now can you help me out with some suggestions
Also how about meat suggestions
I am going to Walmart and I need the biggest load for my dollar
and go

for 50$ and no place to really cook anything... PB&J is a great place to start. Just make sure when you make it too apply the serving size.. just don't go slapping however much looks good. Only buy fruits/veggies that are on sale, don't buy pre-packed anything. if you want meat, go to the deli, do get pre-packed. Popcorn is a nice filler... get a brown paper bag, put some kernels in it. throw it in the microwave like a normal bag. Healthy and you'll get waaaaaayyyyy more out of that then if you bought the standard bags. If you want to go very cheap on food, chicken legs are like 4 to 5 bucks for a few lbs. compared to 3x that for breasts. though the thighs are higher in fat (this is not a bad thing though) just keep it in mind when watching your overall intake.
canned tuna... cheap + healthy
stay away from junk food cause your going blow 1/5 of your cash on crap that is counter productive.
that should be a decent place to start0 -
Meal 1: Rice and beans
Microwavable rice (usually in a pouch)
Can of beans (black or pinto)
Can of Rotel tomatoes (or generic, whatever, just get some 'maters with flavor)
Cook rice, mix everything together, eat. Should last a few meals. Pair with a veggie of your choice.
Meal 2: Quesadillas
Corn tortillas (not flour, these come in a gigantor package on the cheap)
shredded cheese (your choice)
Beans (again, black or pinto)
Canned Chicken (optional)
Place 1 tortilla on plate, add cheese/beans/chicken (watch your portion sizes per packaging). Add another tortilla. Heat in micro (or on Forman, if you have one). Pair with a veggie of your choice.
You can buy fresh veggies and steam them in steamer bags - Zip N Steam etc. You should eat your veggies :-)
These are just starting points.
I second the popcorn. I do the same as the PP - buy the big bag of kernels, cook in a brown paper bag. Works great.0
