When measuring out pasta per serving, do you measure dry or cooked?

Thanks everyone! :flowerforyou:

I believe the answer is cooked. 1# of raw pasta equals 3# of cooked pasta.

The brand I use actually shows the dry nutrients which I believe would indicate the nutrients calculated for nutrition intake. It is Heartland 100% whole wheat. If that makes sense. I would also like to see what other people have to say though.

I'm hoping it's not. 2 ounces of cooked pasta isn't very much.

I found this awhile back...so basically, 2 ounces dry= 1 cup cooked.

Dry Pasta vs. Cooked Pasta Measurements

8 oz. uncooked small to medium pasta shapes = 4 cups cooked
Examples: Elbow macaroni, Medium Shells, Rotini, Twists, Spirals, Wagon Wheels, Bow Ties, Mostaccioli, Penne, Ziti, Radiatore, Rigatoni
8 oz. uncooked long pasta shapes or a 1 1/2-inch diameter bunch = 4 cups cooked
Examples: Spaghetti, Angel Hair, Linguine, Vermicelli, Fettuccine
8 oz. uncooked egg noodles = 2 1/2 cups cooked

So wait, like a lot of Pasta has 2 oz as the serving size. So does that mean that 2 oz of that (if its the small pasta) is about 1 cup?!?! that seems like a lot...
