Recovery Heart Rate when using a Heart Rate Monitor

I have just bought a heart rate monitor to help me with my walking. It seems easy to set up and for the most part is is self expanatory except for one thing: there is no explanation on what the numbers mean for the recovery heart rate? I can set my monitor to determin my recover heart rate at either one minute or two, but have no idea if the results are good, fair, poor. I have tried to google to find more information on it, but haven'd found anything that explains it and what the numbers mean.
Any direction would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks.
Lori

This is what I found when I Googled "recovery heart rate". Seems pretty well explained here.

The only thing I would caution is that rate of heart rate recovery will depend on duration and intensity of workout, also age.
A younger person who is getting heart rate up into the 170s might see a 50 beat drop in the first minute if they are in excellent shape and doing a shorter, more intense workout.
For someone in their 40s or 50s, a 30-beat drop in the first recovery minute is very good.
We had a guy in our class at grad school who could go from 200 bpm to 40bpm in 4 minutes after a max stress test, but he was a freak--the kind of guy who would go for a 13 mile run with me, grab a snack, wake up his wife and do the 13-miler again with her.0
