What a difference a year makes

Hi All
I've been quiet on the forums for a while partly because I've been so busy, partly because I have not been 100% and partly because I didn't feel I was being any use to anyone.
But I wanted to post this...
Last January 17th I was lying in bed looking through the App store on my phone and I saw MFP.
I downloaded it and expected to use it for a week and then delete it and stop overweight.
What I didn't expect was what actually happened.
I started to log my food that day and bought lots of fresh food instead of the usual packet things I usually got.
I started to go back to the gym and after a few weeks was so into it and was almost obsessed with calories I bought a Heart Rate Monitor as I wanted to get the calories right.
I stuck to this like I've never stuck to anything before and although I've put on about 5 lbs since my initial weightloss you can't tell and it's muscle anyway!
I am fitter, happier, look better and it's all down to the support I got from MFP.
How shocked was I to look at my HRM yesterday to get these stats:
Time in the Gym: 175 hours 27 minutes.
Sessions: 98 (Including a 3 month break due to depression/anxiety) so only 9 months really)
Calories burned: 47379
I've never felt deprived of food or as though I was overdoing it and if I'd not been looking through Apps on Jan 17th last year I'd not be healthy with a perfect BMI, a heart rate of 54 BPM at rest and a healthier mind to go with my body.
I'm rambling now but THANK YOU ALL and please don't give up.
It gets tough and it's easy to just stop counting and stop in bed, or go straight home from work instead of going for a walk but it IS WORTH IT.
You're all brilliant.
All of you.
Thank you
Amanda

Seeing the stats from your HRM must have been exciting. Like they say, it's about the journey not the destination and you have made a lifestyle change toward health. Great job!0

Amanda - Great job! Well written! And you should be very proud of yourself!
...I hope I am where you are by the end of the year!
A friend of my suggested MFP so I thought I would use it solely for the calorie counter...what I didnt' realize was the great community of support this site has! I think I check my MFP more than my FB, and it is really helping me stay on track with my goals.
I have been on MFP for a few weeks now but I didn't really weigh myself until last Sunday...and since then I have lost 2.5lbs! This site really is great at motivating me and keep me accountable for my foods and exercise.0 -
So happy for you!!
Well done

So kind.
Thank you.
This site with the app has changed my life.
