Yep. Last night for me was evident of that. Mcdonalds at midnight and Bacon and eggs this morning followed by cheese toasties.
I haven't eaten food like that for months. I feel so gross.
  • I can relate. I don't tend to pig out on junk food, but I want to order food that's the greasy, fried stuff that just goes so well with alcohol. I don't drink too often, but when I do, I like to have a good time. Problem is, when I drink it's usually out with friends, so there's always the presence of appetizers and other good foods. The other night I went out with my two girlfriends for a girls night. Had to pat myself on the back afterwards because I drank nothing but water with lemon and had a caesar salad with dressing on the side for dipping.

I was so tempted to order a drink, but knew that I could resist it if I really tried. Meanwhile, my friends ordered fried ravioli, calzones, and garlic cheese sticks (they are my absolute favorite!). I had a bite of a garlic cheese stick, but that's it. I'm shocked as you know what that I was able to resist that much.

If you're having a hard time with not drinking to cut the calories, try ordering just one drink when you go out. Like...order a water with lemon, then with your meal have a drink, but sip it so it lasts longer. Then after you meal have another glass of water. Sometimes breaking up the drinks with food and water helps to make the idea of having "drinks" last longer. This way, you still get the satisfaction of having a drink, but not tons of calories or junk food to accompany :)

Yes, this happens to me all the time. At the end of a night of drinking, always crave to eat something greasy. Considering the amount of calories in alcohol PLUS the greasy food i'll have..I can see why I am where I am.

This is my problem. I love beer and margartias, so on average I'm consuming an extra 500-800 calories just from one happy hour alone. I know it's hindering my weight loss and making me consume more food when I get home and next day. It needs to stop...

Im the same. I've cut down on what alcohol i've been drinking. i have found that it makes a massive difference.
Don't get me wrong, I still have a drink when it is an occasion, a planned night out with the girls etc but I will drink vodka and diet coke and make a chicken salad up for when I get home so I don't binge

I think that its a lot of our problems I know I love to order greesy food when I have been out drinking, I have tried not to drink as much when going out, I also have made myself somthing realy nice and healthy for when I get home as well so I can eat that before bed.
  • Try the Bud Select 55, if you don't hate beer. At 55 calories per bottle, it can be worked into your diet, and if you have more than you should have, it isn't so bad. It does have less alcohol than higher calorie beer, so you have the pleasure of a few beers without the loss of control that causes excessive eating. I also order mixed drinks this way - I order a tall glass of diet soda as a mixer and a shot of liquor on the side. I add half a shot to my tall soda, and save the rest for the next drink. Last tip - I pre-plan my after-drinking food for just in case. i will have low calorie toast with peanut butter, or something that can be reheated quickly like scrambled egg with low fat cheese, or turkey burger. By doing this, I don't feel deprived or left out, and I am still losing weight.

it all boils down to ...how bad do you want to obtain your weight loss goal? i rarely go to a bar when im in weight loss mode because of the same reason.. my social life has moved on to the gym now instead of the bar. if i go in a bar its almost gauranteed i will buy some junk food

I am with you on that. I make the worst choices. Then I forget all that I ate.
