Let Me Introduce Myself

Hey All!! My name is Katie and I am 33 years old and 242 pounds and trying to lose 100. I started off at 257, so the goal for me is 157!! I joined because I needed somewhere to count calories and get in the practice of writing down everything I put in my mouth. Unfortunately it is the weekend and is a bad time to start, I know. But I have to do something and I need to do it now. I've been struggling with three pounds that I keep taking off and keep putting on and it is insane. Its been doing this since the end of the holidays and all the bad foods have now disappeared from the pantry, thank God.
Anyway, its been a pleasure so far hearing from all of you!! I have a very simple philosphy when it comes to the weightloss journey. Its not called a DIET.........its a lifestyle change!!! Anybody else HATE the word diet?! I sure do.......first, you can't fit it in anywhere. To me, it means you CAN'T have this, you HAVE to do that, and you HAVE to have certain things. Sorry, that is not how I roll. Secondly, everyone here is different in their goals........some want to lose like I want to which is 100 pounds or more, some want to only lose a certain amount, some want to just maintain, and some even want to gain!! All of these things encompass many different aspects of how, when, and what you eat. Just look up the word diet in the dictionary and I can garuntee you it will say something to the effect of eating certain foods to lose weight. So to me, it is a LIFESTYLE change. Its not everyone and me..........its just me and me alone I have to worry about..........and its who I am, not what I want to do with my life.
Just remember though.........everyone here is bold, daring, beautiful, and CAN DO IT!!! Whatever your goals are, they are reachable and its hard, but hey........anything that is worth doing is going to be hard sometimes and its the hard that makes it so great!!
