Hey guys, I'm just starting turbo jam, my friend gave me her set of discs but I'm really confused as to when you do what workouts, is there a certain order or anything? All she gave me was the discs, and said she would look for the book but didnt think she had it still, please help!

I'm new to MFP, but have all the Turbo Jam workouts. I have started walking/jogging 3 miles a day, but I'm thinking that TJ would be a great workout for those nights when my husband is out of town (as if running around after 3 kids isn't workout enough) . I'm wondering if anyone inputs their TJ workouts into the "Exercise" log on MFP, and if so how do you input it?

    Thanks!

All I bought was the discs too, no info with them... the first day I did the learn and burn which was easy to me so I went to the 20 min. workout which was FUN! The moves are a little hard to stick at first but you'll get them! and then from there I wanted to try the turbo sculpt and cardio party so I think you should just do what is comfortable to you!
  • Hey Family,
Missed my w/o yesterday!! Having a dog issue at home:cry: One of my little one's is really sick and had to rush back to the vet last night. Up late w/ him and DH, slept thru the alarm but did manage to get to the office on time. He's scheduled for a blood transfusion either today or tomorrow and I am really just "off". My eating hasn't been too off track so I can be grateful for that. He will be spending the nite at the vet tonight so rather than sit and be miserable I am definetly going to do my w/o - if nothing but 20min and ab jam. Exercising is such a great stress relief ~ as well as being good for me.

Glad to see all are well and everybody's taking care of themselves.

    Will check in later

    Janet:heart:

Hey Janet, sorry to hear about the dog!!! Hopefully he'll get better soon!

    Hi Everyone!

Welcome Marinewife, cpafford79, and Arienna! :flowerforyou: So glad you're joining us! Arienna, there's no real schedule for TJ, I have seen some suggestions on the beachbody web site, but around here most of us just do what feels right. I usually try to get in some sculpting with Turbo Sculpt, Ab Jam, or Booty Sculpt at least 3x/week in addition to my cardio.

Janet, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog! :brokenheart: Please keep us posted on how he doing! LOVE the new hair!!

Checking in with Push 1 today.

    Have a great day everyone!

  • Hey to all the new ladies!!! Welcome! Turbo Jam is so fun!
I also dont follow a schedule, i started a week and a half ago and i did the learn and burn 2x and then i did the 20 min work out and then the turbo sculpt...i typically do the 20 min workout, sometimes the ab jam in the afternoon, and turbo sculpt i am going to try to do 2-3x a week. so whatever feels comfortable to you!

Janet, love your new pic...gorgeous girl!! I hope your doggie gets better soon!! :brokenheart:

WOW!! Last night I tried the TJ Fat Blaster workout for 30 minutes! It kicked my butt and I was so sore this morning that I had to soak in a hot bath for a few minutes before I could get going! I loved the workout though! I think I just might get addicted to TJ!

    : Good Morning Family:flowerforyou: ,
Checking in w/ PK & J this morning (my current fav) and went for a 40min walk last night w/ ankle weights and my wrist weights - was abt all I could muster the energy for and i needed to be out in the nature. It was a beautiful nite. Checked my weight and measurements this am and down 1/2 inch in waist and hips and 2.5 lbs - not sure if the weight is a true reading or not due to recent stress but ~ it's very encouraging. I usually don't do my check in until Sat am but i had a scheduled day off today so what the heck! My pups surgery is scheduled for 1:30 today so it all worked out the way it's supposed to ~ I can be around for that. Thank you God!
Marinewife - glad you like CP2 that was my favorite one for a really long time and I still love it!! You feel sooooo good when you're done and the results continue to amaze me . Fabulous job on your progress:drinker: :drinker:
Megan - so proud of you for sticking w/ CE!! You're doing great!! :drinker: It always kind of surprises me how good of a w/o I get when I do one of the cardio's, FB or PK & J when I haven't done that particular one in a while.
Hipslips- Thanks for the question today and keep up the w/o's!! We're all gonna get there!!

Thank you guys for the well wishes for my pup~ I really appreciate the support and kind thoughts.
Nice to know that there are those who understand :flowerforyou:
Much love to all I missed; will check in later,

I haven't tried CP3 yet (although I do have it). I like CP1 and CP2 pretty equal. I think my fave is PK&J or Fat Blaster though!

Ok ladies, sorry if this question has been asked in this thread in the past, but I couldn't find it if it was! I'm needing to buy some new shoes that are better for my new TJ addiction! The ones I currently have worked for my lower impact aerobics and walking, but I need something with better support now! I hear Chalene talking about her Shox all the time, but not sure if they are all that great. I tried some on today and they didn't feel much different than what I have now (Nike Air of some sort). So, what do you all recommend? I did buy some arch supports that I needed, but still need a good shoe to put them in :) Thanks for your help!
  • Fitzfour- not to sure what to recommend for shoes, I have Nike's of some sort that are ok but I need to look into getting some new ones too!

Checking in with turbo sculpt today! I'll be out of town for a day or two, so I probably won't get TJ in but I'll try and walk!

Have a great weekend everyone! :glasses:

    Hey Fitzfour,
i am currently wearing sketchers Pre-mix - I love them 'cause they're cute, plain, feel good and they have no laces but i've beed seriously thinking about investing in a new pair that has more spring. Disappointed to hear the Nike shox weren't all that "shox- ing"!! If you find something you like let me know. Also interested to hear what everybody else is wearing!

    Will check back later on!

    Janet:heart:

PS So far so good with my little pup - went by the vet to visit and he was alert and glad to see me. An answered prayer ~ thank you, God .... again:wink:

Well, I ended up getting some Avia's. I work at a health insurance company and we have a personal trainer that happens to sit across from me. She told me I needed to get a cross trainer shoe, as my current running shoe doesn't have enough support for kickboxing. She said crosstrainers are higher than a running shoe, so have better ankle support. So, I got a pair for $35! Very comfy, and a lot lighter than my current Nike's and oh so much cushier! Cross trainers are much less expensive than running or other types. I'm happy with my purchase...I'll give them the official test tomorrow AM :)

Janet, glad to hear your pup is doing better. What kind is he?

    GM everyone,

Checking in with CP1 times 3 this morning, P K & J times 1 and HHA times 2 also. Sorry I didn't get a chance to check in last week but no matter what else I do; I'm gone do CP1 everyday.

I have a question though. Is working out for 4.25 hours too much for 1 workout session?

I try to break it up into 3 or so workouts but this morning I did it straight through.

    Good Morning Family,
Hope all are feeling good and open for the challenges of the day!! Checking in w/ 20 min + AbJam so far. I must have really pushed it b/c I am soaking wet and it feels great!! Not sure what i'll be able to fit in for later, maybe a walk or a swim but so far so good!
Juicy: I don't know how you fit in 4.25 hrs of w/o everyday; that amazes me!! For me, when I work out even 1.75-2 hrs a day I get to a point where I stop losing weight and get really really frustrated. That's what happened to me about a month or so ago. I was eating too few cals and I guess they would call it "overtraining". My attitude was like "i don't get it ~ I work out like a fiend and and am very rigid w/ my diet - why aren't the numbers on the scale moving!!!:grumble: " I had to re-evaluate my goals and be more realistic w/ myself. I want long term changes, I didn't get overweight and out of shape overnight so I won't fix that overnight either.( I'm so impatient:laugh: ) I don't know if you've experienced what I have but when I started eating more and exercising less I started to lose again ~ weird right??? Anyway, I am astounded by the amount of time you are able to exercise !!! WOW!! If you are still losing that's great ~ for my body, i'm 46 and 1/2, I got to that plateau place and had to tweak it to keep losing. Good luck and please keep post your progress; we'll get there!!!:flowerforyou:
Love to all and have a wonderful Sunday ~ enjoy your families:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    Hi Everyone!

Checking in with Push 2 today and some abs. It's a gorgeous weekend here...we spent the day at the lake yesterday, picnicing, swimming and watching all the beautiful sail boats. Taking the kids to the go-cart park today.

As far as shoes...I actually use jazz shoes for my workouts. Granted, there's no support, but I have to workout on carpet, and the smooth surface of the shoes helps my knees.

Juicy...WOW! There's no way I could ever do that much in one day! I usually workout for about an hour/day, 6 to 7 days a week. Some days when I have the time and energy I'll go up to 90 mins or 2 hours, but that's rare. My experience has been the same as Janet's and the schedule I'm on now is definitely something I can maintain hopefully forever! I think only you can determine what is healthy for you, but I've found that when I push myself too hard I get injuries, or simply too worn out to continue. But if it's working for you, then good for you! :flowerforyou:

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

I have started a thread to see if I'm obsessed. I sincerely hope I'm not...I don't do it straight through everyday but I did that day. I usually break it up into 3 workouts a day. I know I will be cutting it down to twice a day starting 6/8/09 (my life schedule will be changing then).

Much success to all of us!!!
  • Hi everyone! Checking in for day before yesterday with a 30 min. walk (out of town) and yesterday I luckily squeezed in 20 min. workout... leaving today for the Ozark mountains for vacation  won't be back for a while so I'm counting on making very good eating decision since I won't be able to exercise as much as normal...

Have a great, great week and keep up the great work! :flowerforyou:

Rest day for me today. I did CE Burn #1 (2nd week) yesterday and pushed myself to do "real" pushups and think I hurt my shoulder (or it's just maybe they're sore because I built up some new muscle there!). Maybe I'll sneak in a walk if the rain ever stops here!
