I have been doing my fitness pal for almost a year and have to say it has changed my life. Only downfall I have to say is the support. I have had little or no responses to my comments maybe because I don't have a picture linked to my profile. This is a mere observation, but have to say it is upsetting. Just because I have not linked a picture to my profile does not mean I am not serious. Just a heads out to those that ignore profiles like me, I have lost 22 lbs and have motivated 4 of my staff to loose with my fitness pal so we ARE real ppl so.... help us out and take us serious. Thanks. :)

    Betty,
I'm new to MFP but here's my 2 cents worth. It is easier to respond to someone with a pic.... even if it's a pic of their cat, because it makes the person seem more real. I also like when people have their "weight lost" ticker, it gives me a sense of 'knowing" someone. :^) I'll be your friend if you'll be mine! LOL.

I find that it can be difficult to respond to many posts in a timely manner. Especially if the conversation is very active. Your response can be pushed way down the line. Motivation and support for your efforts will be more timely through the friend connections. I find I have much better luck with those that our my "friends" through MFP. I'll be glad to add you my list. Congrats on what you have done so far!

I understand. I like support and have left a group because most the time it was just me and another member supporting each other....we still provide support to each other which is great. I also like to give support..picture or no picture. I'll send you a friend request.

Congrats but it could have something to do with only 15 posts for the year. Support should be given and received, but great job so far!

To most people, weightloss is very personal thing and having that picture just makes it bit easier for people to reply in a personal manner. I tend to ignore 'faceless' posts and would never accept a friend request frome someone without a picture.

Thank you for your sweet and motivational responses :) I do understand and appreciate your opinions. It means alot that you took the time to respond. Did not mean to sound like I was upset ...just frustrated. Thanks again....and yes I will try to upload a picture. LOL

In addition to your picture, you dont' have any info at all on your profile. Snooze-fest.

You have to meet people half way

I have an easier time keeping people straight if there's some kind of picture, though as people said, it doesn't really matter if it's a picture of you. I mean, I'm not really that horse-faced :)

And it looks like you got a picture uploaded. Good job!
